My plastic surgeon told me it would eventually go away. This is 3 days after my belly button repair to make it an innie. I also had a belly button piercing and after having kids the scar was saggy and gross so the surgeon removed that as well. I’m discouraged by the amount of puckering and want to know if it will get better. Thanks

At the 3 month mark I think is good time to discuss options and then timing you should sort out with your physician. It's not an easy problem but there should be something that can be done without adding too many additional scars. Best Wishes!!

This can be a fairly common occurrence. The remaining tissue if healthy can heal in and still look like a navel. Sometimes a thicker sir may form and sometimes the hole closes shut which can be difficult to manage. Discuss this with your surgeon.
