10 Year Old Suffers from Intestinal Parasites (Giardia) and Hemoglobin 9.5?

My 10 yr has been looking really pale lately so I did a stool, blood and urine tests and discovered he has an intestinal worm (Giardia) and his hemoglobin is 9.5. Also, when he was born he had a heart murmur and its still there. The doctor told me the results of the echo and ECG have slightly been affected by his anemia. Should I be worried?? Also, What kind of foods along with his medication can he eat to get rid of the intestinal parasites and increase his hemoglobin at the same time?
