My results are better than expected and I couldn't be happier

Dr. Spalla did my rhinoplasty and lower blepharoplasty. This was something i was very insecure about for years - especially at age 45. My fear had subsided after leaving his office after my initial consult. I had MANY questions which he always answered in a kind professional manner. Did I say "MANY"? lol He truly cares. He checked in with me frequently after my surgery and his staff was...

Upper Eyelid Surgery Went Great

Dr. Spalla performed upper eyelid surgery on me. I am older and have been unable to see as well as I'd like to for quite some time. He reassured me that upper eyelid surgery would help me. The surgery was easily done in under an hour. I chose not to have any sedation given my age, and I didn't feel a thing the entire time. I was able to restart my blood thinners just two days after surgery. I...

No Regrets for my Upper Eyelid Surgery

I recently had an upper eyelid surgery done, and I couldn't be happier with the results. As an Asian individual, I've always wanted an upper eyelid but was hesitant to undergo the procedure because of concerns regarding the outcome. After researching extensively, I finally found a specialist, Dr. Spalla, who focuses on the face and had great reviews. My experience with the surgery was beyond...

Eyelid surgery results beyond expectations & recovery was fast & not painful

I recently had a blepharoplasty by Dr. Spalla. I looked around for a surgeon who focuses on the face. My results were beyond expectations and the recovery was fast and not painful. I was able to go back to work after a weekend of rest. A little bruised but no pain. I highly recommend Dr Spalla! Thank you for helping me regain my confidence!

Q: What is wrong with my eye & how can I fix this? Double & blurry vision, dry eyes (Photo)
Answered by Dr. SpallaApril 22, 2024

A: You definitely need to see an ophthalmologist for a comprehensive examination of your eyes. The asymmetry could be corrected through surgery, and you do appear to have some degree of ptosis, but this doesn't fully explain your symptoms. Prior to ANY surgical intervention to address asymmetry, the other concerns need to be fully explored to ensure a medical/neurologic issue is not present which may preclude or change any intervention.

Q: Male, 39, 6'1, 240lbs, fair skin - how to address tear troughs & droopy eyelids? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. SpallaApril 15, 2024

A: Thanks for your inquiry. I'd recommend a couple things to rejuvenate the look around your eyes. Some filler or PRF to the undereye region would help to improve the hollowing and mask some of the shadowing. Additionally, seeing an aesthetician for regular skincare and great products make a huge difference as well. Best of luck in your journey, Dr. Spalla Philadelphia Facial Plastic Surgery & Medspa

Q: 34 y/o considering upper eyelid surgery - would I be a good candidate? (photos)
Answered by Dr. SpallaApril 10, 2024

A: There does appear to be some excess skin that could easily be removed through a blepharoplasty. If it concerns you, consult with a blepharoplasty surgeon to discuss options. If you do it now, you'll have more years with which to enjoy your rejuvenated appearance. Given your young age, you may wish to have a second blepharoplasty at some point in the future.

Q: Can this area be treated with filler? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. SpallaApril 9, 2024

A: Yes, this area can be treated with filler. Filler is often placed superiorly, along the cheek to aid in lifting this area. Along with this, some filling of the marionette line will help to blunt this area and avoid the shadowing and transition which makes it more noticeable.

Q: Do I need a nose job? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. SpallaApril 5, 2024

A: Given that you are bothered by the small bump (dorsal hump), then you should consult with a rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss options. A surgical rhinoplasty is certainly an option. If that's all that is done to the nose, shaving the bump, this may be able to be done under local anesthesia or with IV sedation in an office, but you'll need to discuss this with your surgeon explicitly. Not all surgeons offer this. Additionally, you could consider filler to the nose as an alternative way of masking the hump. This may be a nice alternative as a way to start and "try on your new nose."
