I was attracted to the field of Facial Plastic Surgery so that I could use my artistic interests to make people feel better about themselves on a daily basis. I love my job and am privileged to have the opportunity to enter the lives of my patients.
Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Farhood's grew up with parents were also practicing physicians. They would frequently bring him to work marking this early exposure to medicine as what piqued his interest into the field. In high school, he sustained a wrestling injury and was treated by a facial plastic surgeon who was also a former wrestler. The surgeon later came to one of his matches and left an indelible impression on him regarding the impact medicine can have outside of the operating room. Dr. Farhood graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas, Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and completed his medical education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston – home to the world’s largest medical center. In his final year, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After obtaining his medical degree, he completed a clinical research fellowship in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical University of South Carolina where he conducted numerous clinical trials, published extensively in the scientific literature, and presented his work at several national meetings. He has produced over 50 peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and book chapters. He then completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Saint Louis University, earning multiple accolades for his teaching, compassionate care, and scholastic achievements. Following this, he pursued advanced fellowship training via the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto, ranked by Times Higher Education as 5th in the world for clinical and health and 2nd among North American public institutions. Known as the most diverse city in the world, Dr. Farhood treated patients of various cultural backgrounds in the glamorous Yorkville neighborhood, including high-profile celebrities, athletes, and politicians, and brings an international eye with special attention to detail for his patients. Dr. Farhood’s philosophy includes getting to know his patients and their goals, educating and empowering them, and setting realistic expectations. He strives to create a calming, non-judgmental environment where patients can enhance and celebrate their natural beauty and improve their self-confidence. A forever student of life, he loves learning new things and acquiring new skills, having studied Spanish, Italian, and Arabic. He is a self-proclaimed “foodie” and avid home chef. Dr. Farhood is also a burgeoning cyclist and enjoys exploring the vast network of trails throughout the Twin Cities.
Dr. Anna Bakeman attended medical school at, the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Bakeman returned to the Medical College for a fellowship where she had extensive exposure to both the aesthetic and reconstructive aspects of facial plastic surgery.
