Happy Customer

10 out of 10. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Healy and his wonderful staff. If you are looking for an office with amazing bedside manner and customer service WITH phenomenal results, you've come to the right place. Having lost 130lbs in 2016 I was very self conscious about the loose skin apron left around my body. I was finally able to go in for a lower body lift a month ago. I...

The Best Results and Experience!

Dr. Healy and his staff are all so amazing! Everyone is so patient, knowledgeable and kind. I was so nervous about getting the Mommy Makeover because it’s such a big surgery but after going through the consultations and even on the days leading up to, as well as the day of procedure, I felt so reassured and confident about it all. They all took such great care of me after it was all said and d...

Dr Healy and his office are wonderful

Dr Healy and his office are wonderful! I felt supported from preop all the way through my six month follow up. As a registered nurse, I know what makes a good medical establishment and everything here- from Dr Healy to his staff- are highly professional and caring. I will definitely recommend them if anyone asks.

Q: Not happy with my recent breast augmentation. 2 months post op. I can still fit my old bras. Should I get a revision? (photos)
Answered by Dr. HealyMay 29, 2019

A: Two months is still too early to judge the final results.  The implants are still settling and rounding out at this point.  I would advise you to wait longer before undergoing surgery again.  We take out first post-op photos at 3 months after surgery and tell our patients it can take up to a full year to get the final results.  I wouldn't focus so much on a particular bra size, but instead try to achieve the look that you want and is realistic.

Q: Is yellow skin at 2 weeks post op normal healing? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. HealyApril 8, 2019

A: A tummy tuck is a big operation and there are different stages of healing that each patient will go through.  At 2 weeks you are still very early in the healing process.  The yellow color you see on your skin is most likely the last stages of the bruising as it fades away.  This is very normal.  You should always follow-up with your surgeon so he/she can assess the progress of your recovery.  Follow your surgeon's recommendations and you should have an uneventful recovery.

Q: 6 weeks post op, have I developed capsular contracture? (photo)
Answered by Dr. HealyFebruary 23, 2019

A: It is highly unlikely that you have developed capsular contracture this soon after surgery.  You are still going through the healing process.  It is very normal for one breast to settle sooner than the other side.

I find that the implant on the dominant side (right side if you're right handed) will often take a little longer to settle than the non-dominant side.  The muscle on the dominant side is usually stronger and is being used more than the other side after surgery which keeps the implant higher longer.

Be patient and follow-up with your surgeon.

Q: Can I get a BBL and Breast Augmentation at the same time? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. HealyFebruary 23, 2019

A: It is technically possible to do both a BBL and Breast Augmentation at the same time and you might save a little money by combining procedures; however, you should look at the long-term picture and determine if this combination is right for you.

As others have stated you won't be able to sit or lie down on your back side for approximately 2 weeks after BBL because the added pressure will damage the transferred fat cells and compromise your results.  On the other hand you won't be able to lie on your stomach or sides right after a breast augmentation.  This leaves you in a tough situation unless you can sleep standing up.

Based on your pictures you don't appear to have much extra fat so a dramatic change for your BBL might not be possible in the long run.  Butt implants might be an option to consider.  I recommend you have several consultations with board-certified plastic surgeons who have a lot of experience doing the procedures you are interested in.  Make sure they have your best interests as the top priority and choose the surgeon you feel comfortable with.

Q: How long does fat grafting to the breast last & is it ever lumpy?
Answered by Dr. HealyJanuary 22, 2019

A: It is possible to augment the breast using a patient's own fat.  A small increase in size can be expected after fat transfer.  We know that not all of the fat will survive the transfer process and estimate approximately 50% of the fat will survive long term.  This means that the initial size and fullness seen right after surgery will become significantly smaller within the first few months.

The fat that does survive is permanent and will behave as other fat in your body in regards to weight fluctuations.  It is possible to get lumps in the breast after fat transfer.  Most of these lumps will go away on their own over time but in rare situations may need to be surgically removed.

Implants can give more reliable and predictable results when compared to fat transfer.  However, fat transfer is an option for those patients that do not want to have breast implants.
