Cancer Free and Nice Breasts!

After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis, I was referred to Dr. Burgess. What a scary time of my life with several unknowns. Dr. Burgess was able to see me within a few weeks of my diagnosis which was amazing! I was intimidated as first. I had never stepped foot into a plastic surgeon office and I was nervous to be judged. I was quickly put at ease by the customer service of the front...

Best Surgeon out There and Truly Wants to Make You Feel Confident!

Dr. Burgess is truly a miracle worker. I had my first set of implants (over the muscle and too big for my small frame) 17 years ago. Then breastfed 3 kids, got capsular contraction, and they looked seriously awful. I didn’t give them much thought as I was busy raising my babies but had a consult with a few different surgeons 2-3 years ago. I chickened out. Thought about getting them out a...

Best place ever! Informative, gentle & always cost-conscious

Awesome! They are informative, gentle and always cost conscious and never pushy. Everyone is great and it’s a beautiful facility. I wish I could do all the procedures to make me look young! But I just keep chipping away little by little and they are great recommendations, whether it’s skin care products or procedures.

Taken away so much neck pain and given me a much happier state of mind

Wow. Why was I so scared? Dr Burgess and her staff both front office and clinical could not have been more professional, patient and helpful with me. I have talked about doing a breast reduction with my husband for YEARS and have felt it was such a personal choice. I kept vacillating, back and forth . Is it safe enough, will the outcome be worth it, so many questions? A definite YES was...

103 Q&A

Q: CoolSculting risks and benefits? Very scared of PAH
Answered by Ashley VoFebruary 15, 2023

A: Hello, thank you for your question!

At our practice, we have the most up to date Cool Sculpting technology, the Cool Sculpting Elite machine. Cool Sculpting technology works by controlled cooling to break down the fat cells. The fat cells that are frozen are destroyed forever, but the remaining ones can still expand if you gain weight. Cool Sculpting is non invasive and has little to no down time. Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia occurs in a small number of patients, the statistic is about 0.003%. If this were to happen, which is exceedingly rare, the area could be liposuctioned by your plastic surgeon.

Q: Will Voluma work in temples, cheeks to lift jowls, and to address indentations in chin? ( Photos)
Answered by Shelley CFebruary 14, 2023

A: Hello and thank you for your question! For our patients with similar anatomy and facial volume loss we would recommend starting with Sculptra injections and then possibly adding in hyaluronic acid filler injections if needed. Sculptra Aesthetic is a poly-L-lactic acid injectable known for stimulating collagen production and providing results that can last up to two years. Sculptra addresses the underlying cause of aging—loss of collagen—instead of the symptoms. It works to stimulate the body to produce its own collagen to restore skin structure and volume. As the injection microparticles are absorbed, collagen production accelerates. This treatment is typically done as a series of treatments spaced about 2 months apart. Typically, the recommendation is a vial per decade of age so in your case it may take about 4 vials. This is an excellent treatment option to address global facial volume loss. Something else to consider would be the degree of skin laxity. Treatment options to address this issue would be Ultherapy or The Secret RF. Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy while The Secret RF uses radio frequency energy. Both produce heat energy to work by tissue contraction to help lift and tighten loose skin. They also stimualte collagen production to help maintain the support. The ideal order of treatments would be to heat first and fill after. We recommend seeing a trained registered nurse or plastic surgeon in a board-certified plastic surgery office who can assess your individual anatomy before treatment. Thank you again for your question and good luck with your journey.

Q: Pigmentation treatment that won’t impact facial hair?
Answered by Halie HFebruary 10, 2023

A: Hello and thanks for your question! It is true that IPL treatment can reduce facial hair in the beard area as you mentioned. For our patients, we like Clear and Brilliant Permea to treat hyperpigmentation. This is a fractionated laser that is very unlikely to reduce facial hair. Another great option is a chemical peel to treat skin discoloration and sun damage. Our patients have seen great results with the VI Precision Plus Peel in a series of three treatments completed one month apart. The VI peel will have no impact on beard growth. You do want to ensure that you are clean shaven prior to treatment. As always, we encourage you to see a Registered Nurse in a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon's office who can provide you with a thorough evaluation and the appropriate recommendations for your unique skin type. Good luck!

Q: Sculptra reconstitution time?
Answered by Halie HJuly 5, 2022

A: Hello and thanks for your question! You are absolutely correct that there have been new guidelines regarding the reconstitution of Sculptra Aesthetic. The FDA has now approved Sculptra for injections immediately following reconstitution. What this means is that it is safe and effective to use Sculptra as soon as it has been mixed together. In our clinic, we use these new guidelines when treating our patients. It is important to express any concerns you may have with your provider and ask questions prior to treatment so that you have a safe and comfortable appointment. We always recommend seeing a Registered Nurse in a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon's office for your treatments. Good luck!

Q: 32 y/o - what procedure should I get for my forehead crease lines? (Photos)
Answered by Halie HJuly 5, 2022

A: Hello and thanks for your question. In our practice, we always recommend patients utilize multiple modalities in order to achieve optimal results with regard to anti-aging and treating fine lines/wrinkles. Using medical-grade skincare at home is imperative. We encourage all of our patients start using quality products prior to investing in in-office treatments. Our patients love the lines ZO Skin Health, Neocutis and Epionce. Using injectable neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport or Xeomin to relax the muscles causing forehead lines is typically the next step for our patients with similar concerns to yours, depending on their individual anatomy. Botox Cosmetic specifically is approved by the FDA for treating forehead lines, but other neurotoxins mentioned above are used safely and effectively "off-label" in this area as well. Lastly, we suggest our patients start collagen stimulating treatments to help with fine lines and wrinkles. In our office, our patients love SkinPen microneedling, Clear and Brilliant, and The Secret RF. As always, it is best to see a Registered Nurse in a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon's office to get a thorough evaluation of your individual anatomy prior to receiving treatment. Good luck!
