Words cannot express my joy at being able to see my upper eyelids again

Choosing Dr. Amadi for my eyelid surgery was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've made. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional, thanks to Dr. Amadi and his remarkable team. I wanted this surgery for years but was terrified it would change my appearance. Words cannot express my joy at being able to see my upper...

Results Surpassed my Expectations

I am so happy I chose Dr. Amadi to do my eyelid surgery. From consultation to post-op I can't say enough good things about Dr. Amadi and his team. I am thrilled to be able to see my upper eyelids again and have my eyes appear more open and bright. So happy with the result. the scar is invisible, the healing was quick, and I was so comfortable during the procedure, I don't even remember it!...

I was satisfied with everything

Dr. Amadi and his staff were exceptional throughout my eyebrow lift and upper and lower eyelid surgery, from the first pre-op visit to the final post-op review. I truly could not recommend him more for his professionalism. This was my first cosmetic surgery, and I did not know what to expect. When I went to Dr. Amadi's office in Queen Anne it was more like going to a high end, clean home,...

Natural looking and very subtle results

Dr Amadi is a lovely human being and a talented surgeon with an extraordinary eye for detail. My entire life, my eyes had always been my best feature - kind looking and sparkly. But aging / menopause and grief after a family tragedy had really done a number on them. I could barely stand to look at pictures of myself - eyelids drooping, lax, crepey skin, deep wrinkles. I didn’t even l...

Great face & neck lift, kept in constant contact regarding healing

I recently had a face and neck lift done by Dr Amadi Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. I could not be happier. The staff was caring and professional every step of the way. They answered all my questions and the results are amazing and so natural. I did have a slight infection that Dr Amadi addressed right away and his staff kept in constant contact with me regarding my healing process. Highly...

Q: Do you think my ptosis looks bad enough to undergo a surgery? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. AmadiNovember 3, 2023

A: Based on this photo, you definitely have left upper eyelid ptosis, and depending on whether you exhibit "hering's phenomenon", you may also have right upper eyelid ptosis that is currently being masked. Fixing the left eyelid ptosis, may unmask the ptosis on the right eye. You definitely need evaluation by an ASOPRS trained Oculoplastics surgeon.

Q: Excess skin - Can this be fixed with just excised skin? (photos)
Answered by Dr. AmadiNovember 3, 2023

A: Technically, removal of extra skin and re-creating a crease is called and "anchor blepharoplasty". Some patients may also need fat excision as part of their blepharoplasty, though we tend to be very conservative with fat excision to preserve volume. The levator resection (or advancement) is the ptosis repair part of your surgical plan. So if you surgeon is planning on skin excision, with levator advancement ptosis repair, plus crease reformation, then you are having both an anchor blepharoplasty AND ptosis repair.

Q: Do I have ptosis or just small eyes? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. AmadiOctober 30, 2023

A: Based on your posted photo, you do in fact have eyelid ptosis, or droop. The left eyelid looks droopier than the right, but I suspect that if you treated just the left side, the right side will relax and require surgery as well. There are a couple different techniques that we use for ptosis repair, external levator advancement vs internal muller's muscle shortening. Based on my examination, I will recommend one or the other, as each has its pros and cons to it.

Q: Best laser for brown spots, acne hyper pigmentation and texture? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. AmadiSeptember 8, 2023

A: You may be a good candidate for a series of VI Peels with Precision Plus. This particular VI Peel is formulated to treat melasma, skin tone, texture, and signs of aging. Another option to consider is laser skin resurfacing with the Erbium laser. This treatment can also address these issues with the skin. Just like any other aesthetic treatment, there is some level of discomfort associated with both of these treatments and their healing process. Most patients tolerate them very well, however. It is always best to see a provider in person for a consultation to know which procedures best address the needs of your skin. Q: Fine lines or nasolabial folds and would hydrafacials help? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. AmadiAugust 28, 2023

A: Yes, a series of Hydrafacials would help to diminish those lines. Another option worth looking into is laser skin resurfacing with the Erbium laser. This type of laser is extremely effective for treating fine lines and wrinkles, as well as any textural issues with the skin.
