Most plastic surgeons used lidocaine and I want to make sure I'm not allergic to it.I had a mole removed above my eye & the anaesthetic used was lidocaine. The next day my chest was very tight & I had a hard time breathing, which lasted for many hours. Is it possible it was a side effect from the lidocaine? Perhaps it was shot into a vein on my face and went to my heart? Would this indicate an allergic reaction? The interesting this is I've had lidocaine for dental work w/out this side effect.
I am getting a mole on my face removed next week. However Ive heard that the injection for numbing is usually lidocaine and epinephrine but when I go to the dentist I cant get epinephrine. Can I still get the injection for my mole if I cant have epinephrine at the dentist?!
I went to a medspa and got it done by a PA everyone told me he was amazing at sutures which they do look good but my lip is so swollen I have had previous injections and wondering if the lidocaine effected or messed with my injections. I have been icing and staying elevated and taking arnica and ibuprofen. These photos are 17 hours after. The doctor keeps saying its normal but its not going down.
I had a small mole removed from my armpit at 15 1/2 weeks. The doc used a small amount of lidocaine to numb, then cut and lastly cauterized it. I'm kind of freaking out about the cauterizing part due to the machines ability in sending out electric currents. Long story short, about 5 hours after procedure I began to have mild cramping which intensified the following day. I left work and went to the hospital due to the uneasy feeling of pain. I called out the following day as well due to pain.
I am pregnant and had two moles biopsied. One was done when I was 6w3d and I received approximately .75 mL of 1% Lidocaine with Epinephrine 1:100,000. The other was done when I was 7w3d and I received .5 mL of 1% Lidocaine. I'm very worried about exposure to the fetus, and the risk of harm this early in pregnancy. After the procedures, and more researching, I have a lot of regret & worry over exposing my baby. With the amounts this small, is there any possibility my fetus had exposure?
I respond perfectly to Lidocaine. It kills 100% of the pain for all other dental and skin procedures. However, in this one dermatologist's office, my mole removals are 100% horribly painful. The lidocaine does not work one bit! He tells me it does not work on me because I am allergic to sulfa drugs. I can find no medical literature to support this. I often hear other patients cry out when waiting for my appointment. A charming doc, but is he possibly sadistic? Is he using expired lido?
