Has anyone gotten "textured shaped gel implants" aka "gummy bear implants" for a BA?

Hi, I recently had a consultation for a BA and the PS recommended textured shaped gel implants for me. Has anyone here gotten BA done with these implants? If so, was it placed under the muscle? Does it feel natural?

It has been almost three months on the 27th since I had my surgery and am wondering if with time my br east s will look better? i am seeing a difference as days go by that my breasts are looking better!! I think I should let them heal and let's see in Six months what they look like!! I have an appointment on Monday and I'm sure my Dr will see wha t I'm talking about!! I trust him totally!!! Im just hoping as time goes by they take shape?? Or is this wishful thinking????

I did see my doctor on Monday the 18 of August and left sad!! My only alternative is to stay with what I have!! I will not have another surgery right now! He said he would be happy to monitor me for the next months ahead and see how they heal! He told me that I should have stayed with the Gummies and after seeing my pictures they looked a lot better and maybe just have corrected my left dropping breast! But this is what I wanted to go bigger and get a round textured implant and that's what I got! We will see what the future has in store for me! Like I said after 6 surgeries I think I have had enough! I will have to live with always wanting perfect looking breasts! :0(

Yes and hated them!!!! I had them taken out 10 days ago!!! I had a implant exchange because of one encapsulation and the dr convinced me to use the Gummies !! My gut feeling said no and an other dr said he would never use them on me!! But like always here I go!! I was miserable for seven months!! Droopy like old ladies boobs, changed the look of my waist! And from perky round to smaller saggy!! Why would anyone want a natural look??????? If you are having a boob job you want them to look perky and round and fuller!! Then don't have one at all!!! It's been 10 days now and I had 350 cc round textured before the Gummies and loved them! It's hard to go through any surgery and to have to do it twice in 8 months is very hard!! He used 375 Gummies and they looked smaller and so saggy!! He decided I was right and did a revision I went with 401 115 textured midrange implants by Naturelle and what a Differance!! I have my look again and fuller great looking breasts!! I'm glad you are happy with yours!! I would never recommend those heavy ugly shaped implants for ANYBODY!!!!!!

I'm adding my comment here to help anyone reading these. I know the original question was asked last year. I just had a re-augmentation. I am 41, 5'4", 125lb. I previously had 300 cc saline round implants. They looked great for 14 years! But I decided to have them replaced with gummy bear implants and go a little larger. The 300's were a huge improvement when I was younger, I had little to no breast tissue. But once I got used to them it was clear I could have bigger implants. The saline rippled on the sides which I was fine with, but glad to now have silicone. 14 years later, I decided on a re-augmentation. I met with the Dr. and told him I wanted nice, natural shape, full at the bottom, nice slope. He suggested the sientra round base (one of the shaped implants, or tear drop). The only hesitation I had was that the largest size the round base has available is 425 cc. I wanted 500 cc. So I changed my mind and asked for the Sientra round high profile 505 cc. My breast width is 13cm, and the 505 would fit, but I couldn't go any bigger. The day of surgery the Dr. told me the 505's would not look natural and would be a little too big for my breast width. I decided to trust him and went with the 425 cc round base shaped Sientra implant. They look fabulous. I was afraid they would look too long, but they don't. I actually have more volume on top (but not round looking, just more full) than I did before with the round saline implants and more cleavage. They feel great and consistent, I am now 2 weeks post op. They are still a little firmer, but I've been told they will soften up more, even if they didn't, they are great now. I love the Sientra gummy bear. The only thing I'll say negative is that I did want a little larger size, but I'm glad I took the shaped implant instead of the round, the Dr. said the 505 round would have stuck out on the sides and that isn't what I wanted. They do that now, but not too much. So best scenario is that they would have had the round base shape in a 500 cc, but overall I'm really happy with my results, they look great and natural, but their not big bouncing boobs like I thought I wanted!! lol. (implants both times were/are under muscle)

Hi there! Well, your situation sounds similar to what I am going through right now. Just slightly different, if you don't mind can you answer a few questions for me? I went with Round Sientra textures, 385cc. 1.) I had a lot of extra skin before and very little breast tissue. I am 2 weeks post-op, and still feel that they are moving around in there a great deal. Did you experience the same at two weeks post op? 2.) Do they get any smaller with time? Or is this size what I should expect? 3.) Should I be wearing a tight bra, that keeps them held up or one that is loose so they can drop? Thank you for your awesome input, look forward to hearing from you!

Hi there!!! I am 3 months post-op and they got smaller since my surgery! I wear the post-op bra every night and that's the only way I feel they are in place! If I wear a push-up they look fine, but when I take it off they ripple on top and inside my cleavage! I have no upper pole! Did you go under?? My Dr. told me I should have gone under the muscle! If they are under they will drop but you will always have upper pole!! I have none!!

Hi there, Thanks for getting back to me. What is your doctor suggesting? I did go under he muscle, but as I've been told "textured" silentra implants adhere to the bodies natural breast tissue. My concern is I had very little. Even after 3 months you feel the implants are moving? Does your surgical bra have Velcro straps? I wasn't even told how tight it should be.

I re-read your initial email and see you has them redone. Did you have round or shaped? Were they sientra?

Hi Banana1 - I didn't feel them moving around at all, they seem pretty put. Perhaps you could ask the question - why some people have implants that seems to move more - mine don't move around at all. I'm assuming you mean the breast itself with the implant - or do you mean you feel the actual implant moving around inside? I don't think that's supposed to happen. After surgery I didn't seem very swollen, but after 2 months I could tell that I had been pretty swollen and the swelling had subsided quite a bit. As far as size, they didn't change, not smaller, not "fluffier", so what you see now is probably what you get except for any swelling that you have, everyone is different so you may have more than others. My dr. said bra's were optional, but NO underwire. I elected to go braless, mine don't really move around much so I don't need a bra. For recovery I felt better without anything restricting them. I love my sientra's, they are soft and look great. Good luck!

Yes they were shaped!! Maybe if I would hace gone round with them I would have loved them! Even them on top of the muscle I had no rippling on my right at all and on my left very little!! No my bra has no Velcro! And it is comfortable I fell great when I sleep!

Now the really ripple so sad!! Just hope as time goes buy they will get better????

Just had Sientra 485cc, textured, round mod profiles placed submusc.yesterday. they look great already. I'm 6', 165#'s, started out a 36A and my surgical sports bra I'm wearing is a 36D. Implants are very hard right now but its only day 1.

Maybe he should have gone bigger!!! I just don't know what to do!! I don't want to have to go through it all over but I'm sure he will see the booboo!!!

As days go by they will soften no worries!! He did great with the size!! He should have used 425 on me the would have looked much better! He said he tried the 400 and looked too big!! I don't think so!! Because these look so much smaller then the round 350cc I had before!! 375 cc not a good idea!! So sad!!!!!

If I can get this figured out I will post a pic tomorrow!!!

Hi Lover... I'm really sorry you're having a bad experience with this surgery :( I think highly of the teardrop shaped implants and I give all the credit to my PS for my results. Photos I have seen with the 410's create a very attractive breast shape. And having gummy bears myself, I absolutely love them. But everyone's body is different, and this type of implant isn't the best choice for all women. From my understanding it is successfully used for revisions; however, that doesn't sound like your case... Although I am unschooled in the complex field of plastic surgery, I question (with all due respect) that perhaps your implants were malpositioned by your surgeon. Through personal research I found that implant malposition was a main reason for re operation and sounds like what you may be going through. I truly hope the best for you at your next appt. Faith, Hope, and Love!!

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear you did not like your result. I hope he can do something to make it better. I am going in 1/2/14 and quite nervous already. Apparently tese tear drop shaped implants have been used outside of US for about a decade and hoping my results will be good.

This is what I found on internet trying to make myself feel better and it just made me sadder!! So who is a good candidate for the Natrelle 410 “gummy bear” breast implant? Women who are first-time breast augmentation patients, have relatively little excess skin, and are looking for a moderate enhancement are the best candidates for this implant. The Natrelle 410 is not a good choice for women who have droopy breasts, have had surgery before, or want a larger size than is available with the Natrelle 410. It is also not a good breast implant for older patients with softer breasts. Dr. Youn can discuss with you whether you are a candidate for the Natrelle 410 form-stable “gummy bear” breast implant during a comprehensive consultation

Just make sure you like droopy ones!! If not go round always!!!! And the size you want!!! Good luck!!

I did! And I LOVE them! My preference was the "gummy bear" implant (under muscle) because I wanted a most natural shape, and they are! see my before and afters! I understand that these implants aren't ideal for every woman. In my case, they work well for me because of my frame. Your doctor may have suggested them after listening to your post op goals. Fell free to ask any questions and, please, read my review if you think it will help you further. Best!!!
