I know for a fact in all my heart I want implants. I've always been unhappy with my A cup size and I work in the film industry and constantly see the results in entertainers I work with and often wonder how many of them are really happy with them or have complications. I want to join the group. The crazy thing is I don't fear nipple sensation loss or other common complications because I see the numbers seem very small even though I know personal friends who had implant complications so I'm realistic it can happen. The biggest fear I have is autoimmune disease or unknown health complications of toxicity of silicone. I really find this absolutely fascinating that the FDA and plastic surgery community basically state there is absolutely no risk about this complication/issue when I actually have worked in the special effects industry for movies and know from working in the shops and meeting companies that manufacture silicone prosthetic for actors that silicone is treated as a very dangerous substance and when mixing and working with it they tell you to avoid contact with it or breathing in the powder while mixing and all kinds of crazy things. I didn't work long in the special effects industry but long enough to know that something didn't make sense that the medical community is very supportive of silicone in the human body but know that in the special effects industry it's treated like it's very toxin. There is teaching on actors having allergies or reactions with silicone pieces and even silicone casting companies site that safety reasons of avoiding skin contact and long usage of silicone. So why would plastic surgery not even address this issue? I avoided the idea for a good while after thinking about this and then started getting brain washed again that maybe I'm crazy and it's completely safe because it's used in other medical devices that a lot of doctors cite as valid reasons there's no such thing as silicone toxicity. However, I cannot forget in my make-up textbooks the warnings of cancer and known cases of special effects workers being poisoned by bad practices of making prosthetic devices for humans and I have known three people withing the special effects community who spent a lifetime working with these chemicals and developed cancer. A lot of special effects people will tell you this is a very real concern in the industry. Now I'm boiling down to my decision of implants and I got so close with scheduling my surgery and I revisited my old job history and start thinking over again if implants are really as safe as everyone wants you to believe. Anyone's thoughts whether a doctor, or patient without or with implants would be highly appreciated into this discussion. I think this is something that has been spectulated for such a long time with both parties involved. I wish there could be a definite answer by many sources and not just one doctor or patients that may or may not truly be sick from these devices.
