Pelleve review

I couldn't find an area to review Pelleve skin tightening so i thought I'd post my review here.  Before getting the treatment I searched for reviews but couldn't find anything. I got 2 Pelleve treatments 2 weeks apart.  The proceedure wasn't painful, just very warm/hot.  When she went around my eyes with the wand it was a bit too hot several times and she had to stop.  Other than that it was bearable.  I was pink/red blotchy from the heat after each treatment.  After the 2nd treatment I did notice that my cheek area was much more plump - I could barely see the fine lines that extended from the sides of my mouth when I smile.  I was REALLY happy with that.  I didn't get much improvement around my eyes.  Maybe that was because I kept complaining about the temperature therefore I didn't get the full treatment? Who knows.  But my cheeks looked great. The results lasted about 2 months (maybe a bit less).  So for sure this proceedure is temporary - much more temporary than they claim (I was told 6-18 months).   I paid $149 for each treatment (normally $500 each which I find very hard to believe anyone would actually pay that price). I would not waste my money doing this again.

I had my third pelleve treatment 2 weeks ago (full facial) and I am thrilled with the results. I will have a maintenance treatment done next year.

I am very surprised to read all these negative comments about Pelleve. I have had 4 treatments (3 last year and 1 this year) and have had nothing but wonderful. I have sent several of my friends and their experience is the same. I think the problem is the person giving the treatment. If the clinician are not qualified, or don't know how to use the machine correctly, the above can happen. Unfortunately, it sounds like there are quite a few. I guess I was lucky the doctor (actually, she is a surgeon) who performed it on all of us knows what she is doing.

I had one pelleve treatment at $500. The result was an additional crease at the side of my mouth when the area plumped a little. That was it for me since I looked worse. It took a facelift to get rid of most (not all) of it. I not only wasted my money, it ended up making my appearance worse. Save your money.

Dear AEllen, I had disasterous results also in Florida. If the results are not catastrophic, (second degree burns and nerve damage) you can't sue the doctor. I wish women could be educated on the pain and perils of pelleve. This should not happen to anyone. Sue

So sorry you had such bad damage. One thing I learned is that if you try to research bad results from Pelleve, treatments on the web, they are almost impossible to find. Those who are selling them come right to the front of the line. It took Real Self for me to find I wasn't alone in having a bad experience.

I wish this had not brought us together, but you are the first person who understands. I just wrote a letter to "The Doctors." I feel strongly that people need to understand all that can go wrong with these "simple procedure." Real Self needs a pelleve and ultherapy section. Sue

We do have an Ultherapy section. Pelleve is being reviewed to see if there is enough interest to make up a community specifically for it. Here is a list of all the topics we cover. You can access the list in the tabs at the bottom of each page if you ever want to search for a specific topic. :)

I think thee would be a lot of interest, particularly if there were a search link directly from Google. I couldn't find anything negative about pelleve, despite extensive searching, until I was already in the real self website for facelift discussions

WOW, I am so impressed with you and this web site. Thank you so much for caring. Sue

I hope and pray that RealSelf sets up a Pelleve catagory. I have no doubt there are many people who have been burned or wasted thousands of dollars on a procedure that did nothing. This is a multi-million dollar industry where too many are practicing without enough training or understanding the consequences of their mistakes.

I would add "or harmed" to your comment, Susan. I'm still living with the problem it created for me, despite facelift.

You are right about "harm." I will have to take Lyrica, which is very expensive and has potential side effecs, for nerve damage indefinetly. Pelleve can be disasterous.

The good thing is that by you guys being on here talking about it, it provides a place for others to find it, so I in return thank you on behalf of all the other people who will learn from what you have shared.

Susan, check out the Life Extension Foundation website for possible nutritional alternatives for nerve damage. They take longer than drugs for fixing-- as opposed to covering up-nerve damage but might provide long term solutions. Also, have you tried acupuncture?

I will check this out. Thank you very much. Sue

Susan-- Let us know what you decide to do and if you get results. I think it can take two or more months before some alternative methods begin to work. So give it time. ( It just takes time to heal the body). I usually allow two or three months before I decide that a particular alternative method isn't working and start looking for some other approach. The key is to persist in the search. Good luck!

I had Pelleve done a couple of days ago. I already saw a difference. She showed me the half of my face that she did compared to the half she hadn't done yet, and it was remarkable. My procedure took around 90 minutes total. I will go back again in 30 days for one more. I am so far very pleased with this, and I know more results show up in a few weeks. It is a gradual improvement, I was told. She would not touch my eyelids, she said that it isn't safe. I will see improvement around my eyes, but if you have loose skin on your eyelids you will have to have that surgically removed. She did not give me any false hope. Maybe the people giving these procedure are not doing it correctly. She told me everyone is different, and some will see more results than others.

I had two treatments with the pelleve. The first seemed nice , it was hot but tolerable but the second ... I had a different tech perform services and she commented that she was going to give me a " extra special" treatment I got so hot it hurt. She did this around my eyes and now I have scaring all around my eyes . It did shrink the skin so much that it actually created wrinkling . There is a clear circle around my eyes that shows the path the tech used with the pelleve wand . It was so disappointing to have just the opposite effect happen and have new scaring and discoloration happen . I would tell anyone getting this treatment to be very careful Skin shrinking isn't allow going to shrink the way you would like.

On May 30, 2012 I had a treatment in Punta Gorda, Florida by Michael Stampar. I had second degree burns, I was shrink wraped and I have nerve damage. It has been a nightmare. My name is Sue Bennett. *************.com

I use Pellevé myself and have quite god results on my patients. But it takes time (weeks and months) and usually several treatments. I have never seen results before 3-4 weeks. And this is logic since the treatment is based on stimulation of own collagensynthesis which does not come over night. Considering what many pay for a spoon of facial cream without effect I do not think it is expensive at all. Compared to Thermage it is a bargain with at least as god results and no danger of burns. Compared to much more expensive laser treatment not downtime. Especially around the jaw line there is no other non invasive treatment which gives such god results. Results are best between the age of 30 to 65.

There are dangers of burning with Pelleve. I had a treatment in Punta Gorda, Fla. Two weeks later I went to one of the best plastic surgeons in the country, and he said I was shrink wrapped with second degree burns resulting in temple nerve damage. I have been on Lyrica for almost a year with no end in sight. There are countless people who have been burned.

I had Pelleve done on my whole face two days ago and I didn't really see immediate results, like they claim many patients do see. Today, I'm not sure if I see any change. I feel slight 'tightening'. I'm hoping to see some results in the next couple days. I had Titan done 5 years ago, and with that I did notice a change immediately after. Maybe I should have gone with that.

I had 1 Pelleve treatment and I see no difference. None. I prepaid for 3 and am sick thinking I may have wasted my money. Will let you know.

I had Pelleva done twice around my eyes, including eyelids. Complete waste of money. No results.
