Pelleve review

I couldn't find an area to review Pelleve skin tightening so i thought I'd post my review here.  Before getting the treatment I searched for reviews but couldn't find anything. I got 2 Pelleve treatments 2 weeks apart.  The proceedure wasn't painful, just very warm/hot.  When she went around my eyes with the wand it was a bit too hot several times and she had to stop.  Other than that it was bearable.  I was pink/red blotchy from the heat after each treatment.  After the 2nd treatment I did notice that my cheek area was much more plump - I could barely see the fine lines that extended from the sides of my mouth when I smile.  I was REALLY happy with that.  I didn't get much improvement around my eyes.  Maybe that was because I kept complaining about the temperature therefore I didn't get the full treatment? Who knows.  But my cheeks looked great. The results lasted about 2 months (maybe a bit less).  So for sure this proceedure is temporary - much more temporary than they claim (I was told 6-18 months).   I paid $149 for each treatment (normally $500 each which I find very hard to believe anyone would actually pay that price). I would not waste my money doing this again.

I have done 9 Pelleve treatments in the past 18 months. After the first couple of treatments the results were good. I could see improvement and got nice feedbacks on my looks from others as well. But the improvement seem to last only around 5-6 weeks so i kept going back for more. I thought that I just needed to get more for more lasting results. Well, after my last two treatments i started noticing my eyes look worse. I wasn't sure at first if it is because of Pelleve, but now after reading some of the comments here, I am sure it is. I have lost fat under my eyes and from my cheekbones. The skin under my eyes actually looks more wrinkled then when i first started with Pelleve. My cheeks droped because of fat-loss. As a result i look more sick, and tired and acctually older then before. During my last treatment i also received a burn under my right eye and wierd headache that lasted for a couple of days. This was it for me. I'm done with Pelleve! In my opinion, I don't think they have enough research and knowledge about what negative effects this treatment can cause. I've been thinking alot about all the RF I've exposed myself during all this time and what kind of damage this might have caused to my brain and other soft tissues. It opened my eyes I just hope It's not too late and I haven't done more damage to myself than I know. I wasn't planning on writing this comment, but it's true there is so little said about the potential side effects. I had to. people have a right to know. This procedure is dangerous. Be carefull on your persuite of a younger self. There is a false sense of security when it comes to these so called non-invasive procedures. We think the doctors know everything. They don't!

why can't we get simple eye tucks, is there such a procedure?- a slight pulling up and over away from the eye to reduce all the crows feet wrinkles and extra skin????
  • Reply
It is not so simple. With such a procedure there can be a tendency for the outer portion of the lower eyelid to pull down with healing.

I would do anything to have my crows feet wrinkles back. I had one Pelleve treatment for this and I have suffered the last two years. Maybe we should learn to love ourselves a little bit more. My family and friends loved me just the way I was.

facial fillers proved the most effective. very painful! but worth it. $500, one treatment will last about 5 mos. i will do it again. i am also tryign dermapen, $270 a treatment, i like it, easy, painless same idea as pelleve but more effective. takes 4 treatments to really show. i have my 3rd next week.

I got my pelleve almost a year ago. The doctor that did mine said she never recommends more than two, being a month apart, for the first time. I paid $600. The results were phenomenal! I look 15 years younger. My skin is healthy, tighter, and lines on my neck are completely gone. She told me that it is not safe to get too close to the eyes, but got as close as she recommends, and there was some difference. She says after the first time she can tell if you will respond to the treatment or not, and lets you know if you should get it again. I still am seeing improvements from having it last July. She recommends doing one annual as maintenance. This procedure was well worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to look younger and doesn't want to go under the knife. This is a much safer and more natural way. For those of you that have had a bad experience, I feel bad..... maybe you were going to the wrong doctor, or you just weren't a candidate for this type of procedure. It's very sad that some doctors have to ruin a good thing for others.

how are old are you? i'm 64, that could make a big difference. it makes it more complicated but i guess different things work differently for different people. darn. the facial fillers were fantastic. and i think the dermapen is working too.

Results vary from patient to patient with this procedure and are dependent on the amount of collagen you skin can produce. Patients under 60 are the best candidates in my experience. We recommend maintenance procedures with Pelleve every 6 months after the initial series of treatments.

may we talk about dermapen now? like Pelleve, it is a hot tool to bring collagen to the surface.

I am sorry. I have no personal experience with Dermapen. I have only seen it demonstrated a number of years ago.

The doctor who did my Pelleve treatment lectures all over the world and has been on TV telling everyone how wonderful Pelleve is. I have an apt. June 12 to have a growth removed from my left temple where this doctor preformed Pelleve. I would not advise anyone to have this procedure.

I know it is frustrating to spend so much money and not get the results you hoped for. But you were lucky to not get bad results. Love yourself! You are much more beautiful than you realize.

I was 64 when I had the one Pelleve treatment. I am in excellent health. I am 5'8" tall and have weighed 125 lbs. my whole adult life. I was so blessed with my appearance but had to "push the envelope" to look better. What a fool I was. I hope more people remember when inner beauty was the key to happiness and we stop thinking youth and outer beauty is going to make us more lovable.

I am happy you are enjoying the results of a very conservative approach.

I had fat loss around my eyes after Pelleve. The doctor turned the machine up to almost 50 degrees C. (I had two treatments, 2 weeks apart) Within a week after the second treatment my eye area became MORE wrinkled, my partner and friends agreed TWICE the amount of wrinkles were visible. I took before and after photos and sure enough, DOUBLE the lines and what appears to be fat loss around the eye area (Fat that I needed at only 30 years old!). There are not dips , it seems to be an evenly distributed fat loss, but severely aged me! I am guessing this area will not repair, since fat loss around the eyes is permanent . The sadness and anxiety this treatment has caused me , I would not wish on anyone. Ulthera is the only device I would use .

To get the best results with Pelleve, you need 4-6 treatments 1 month apart. We usually do not even see any results until after the third treatment. You might consider going back to where you had the treatments.

I think a lot of the positive experiences are overly optimistic people who buy into their Dr's fake compliments . I think the best result anyone will receive from Pelleve is NO result. JMO Radio frequency has proven to be risky on the face, it is not worth the risk!

Anna, I am sorry you have had such a negative experience. An ethical facial plastic surgeon is obligated to give a prospective patient a realistic idea of the outcome of a procedure. In our practice, we want only happy patients and use only technologies that we think are safe and will work. Some of my results are posted on the Pelleve page of Realself.com

There is a range of results with any cosmetic procedure. Non-invasive procedures like Pelleve often have less than dramatic results and should be priced accordingly. Patients in their 30s and 40s get the best results in terms of building volume in the lower eyelids. Patients in the 50s through early 60s seem to have the best results in terms of wrinkle reduction around the eyes. Take a look at the photos we have posted on this page.
