Has anyone noticed redness of the eyelids?
By 758992anon on 13 Feb 2011
I loved my long eye-lashes from latisse, but stopped using it because my eye-lids got very red. Has anyone else had this experience?
I've noticed this for sure.
Granted, I have been using the "generic" equivalent purchased from India called Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution 0.03% by Careprost, but Bimatoprost is the ingredient that enhances the lashes. I was careful to apply according to the directions as I was also wary the material would damage my eyes since it is designed for an eye affliction rather than a cosmetic improvement. Within a few days, I noticed my eyelids becoming red and itchy where the solution touched them. Smart woman that I am, I continued using the solution and my skin adapted to it somewhat and I was able to grow longer lashes and the redness subsided. Using the generic solution, my eyelashes thickened a small amount and grew longer by an incredible amount. I was rather hoping for the opposite effect but I wasn't going to argue. Falling onto economic hardships for a period of time I was forced to stop purchasing the solution. The longer lashes gradually fell out over a period of a couple months and returned to normal. I was worried the irritation and redness from the solution on my eyelids would not go away, but it did fairly quickly after I stopped applying the solution. I have blue eyes and my eye color did not change as a result of using this product. I'm going to try it again amidst reviews that with proper care, the eyelashes will stay intact and you only have to apply the solution every few weeks for maintenance rather than every night. We'll see what happens.
