Concealer for age spots?

By miss50 on 13 Jun 2007

I feel like I have too many age spots and sun damage on my cheeks to bother with getting a dermatology treatment. Who has a concealer that works to hide age spots?

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage is working for me. Take a look at Bobbi Brown concealer too.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage is what I use, too! I mainly use it on the dark circles under my eyes, but it also works pretty well on blemishes and age spots. I always apply my concealer with a brush and give it plenty of time to set before applying any foundation or powder near the area (otherwise it tends to smear).

I use Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage as well and this product is fantastic when used with a brush ... covers any and everything. Interesting that you use it under your foundation as I've always put it on after and then set everything with powder. I'm going to give your way a try and see if I get different/better results. Anyway, this product is excellent for anyone needing to cover age spots, acne and even acne scarring.

Wow, you are way too young to be concealing age spots. I'm using a product that gets rid of them completely.

Sunblock, sunblock and more sunblock - its never too late to start stopping their growth. Dermablend, Cinema Secrets and FX followed by a fixing powder are good brands for covering spots, waterproofing the makeup (important in heat) and evening out your skin tone. For a lighter approach a dual finish powder moistened with a sponge can cover well, or for a lighter approach use a brush or dry sponge. The dual powder also has an spf factor for further protection.

I agree with the sunblock. It's never too late to start. But if you want to rid yourself of the spots, try Obagi. Nu Derm.

I agree with the sunblock. It's never too late to start. If you are looking for a product to rid yourself of sun spots, Obagi will definitely do it. You have no idea the damage I did to my skin with a 12% TCA peel. It burned me and the spots were absolutely black. I have been using Obagi for years, but for about 6 months, my skin was so damaged that I could use nothing. In January I started using it again under a doctor's care. It's mid march, and they are all but gone. It's a miracle worker.

While there are some nice concealers around at beauty counters, when it's time to pull out the arsenal these are what I turn to: NeoStrata CoverBlend Multi-Function Concealer or Concealing Treatment Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation Dermablend Cover Creme You'll note that several of these are listed as "foundations"--but they're rich enough to spot-apply as concealers. The trick to even application with these is to first put a small amount in the palm of your hand and use a fingertip to gently rub in a circular manner to warm the foundation/concealer up. This will allow for smoother vs pasty application. I'd also recommend using a small brush for tighter areas to allow for more precision. I've had success with both fingertip and sponge application for larger areas. NeoStrata CoverBlend should be available at Ulta stores; Cover FX is available at Nordstrom's; and Dermablend is available at many drugstores.

I use dermablend. It feels a bit heavy but it really conceals my spots on my hands and face. I live in Florida, so sunscreen over 30 block is essential!

Benefit Boi-ing and Erase Paste are both really good concealers for covering age spots x

Every age spot that I have is gone because of the Regimen I use. It is a branded product, affordable, and truly transformed my face to where I use little if any make-up and I am over 40. Unbelieveable!

Susan5353 what regimen do you use?
The Great Skin Girl Channel 20 Apr 2011
I am very pleased with my regimen as it is reversing what few age spots I have right now and helping reverse the ones that have not appeared yet. I am using Rodan and Fields Dermatologists Reverse Regimen, Anti-Aging Regimen and Amp Md. Thanks for asking!!!! What do you use? S
