First, thank you all who went before me! Words can't express how much you have all helped!! I'm mid 30s, and also ready for explant!
Op one: 19 yrs, 300 cc silicone over muscle, A- -> C+ cup, developed capsular contracture
Op two: 30 yrs, 250 cc silicone over muscle, C+ -> C-, developed capsular contracture
Op three, 34 yrs, 350cc silicone over muscle, C- -> D+, developed capsular... more
I am 52 years old and have had two sets of implants. My first set was put in 23 years ago and they were saline over the muscle. This set leaked so the Second set was silicone under the muscle. I how have a capsule contracture on the right side and they just look too big on my body, especially in clothes. I have gained 45 lbs. since I got my first set so I know I have more tissue than when I... more
I've been lurking here for some time. I had a TT, scar revision and BA (38A/AA before 38 D after) done in 2004 by Dr. Lisa Lynn Sowder. She did a wonderful job and honestly the process was not much different than having a c-section or hysterectomy ( I've had both). It's been more than 10 years and know that they don't last forever. I was also DX'd with an autoimmune disorder a few years... more
So it's official on Feb 4 im scheduled to have my almost 13yr old implants removed! Im so excited!!! I go in for my pre op on Friday! I can't wait!! I was originally a 34B and had them put to a full C small D. However after having kids they are now a 34 DD! Im over them and want to be natural again!
So I realized I didn't put cc's or implant info in my last review so here goes, I have 325cc... more
I've had silicon breast implants 350 cc over muscle for 8 years and have had a capsular contraction since. it's felt like there is a bag in my boob, an unnatural feel. I have not been able to wear a push up bra because I have distorted cleavage. My original surgeons answer to my tuberous breasts was" big implants." He told me I would come back saying they weren't big enough if I didn't go big... more
After 35yrs could not wait to sleep on my tummy and iIwas just done wanting a big chest but was afraid the removal would leave me looking monstrous. Not so. Dr sawder is truly an artist with the scalpel, and so very carrying . I felt completely safe in her hands. Great post op care as well. Her entire team works well together with level of competence. more
So, here's my first blog after reading so many other's! I'm choosing not to post photos at the moment as I use a computer provided by my employer and don't want to have to save the photos to this computer before uploading them. When my personal computer gets fixed, I will upload then.
I started this journey several years ago (back in the 1990's), but got discouraged when I read somewhere... more
After breastfeeding 3 kids for 4 consecutive years (a single and a set of twins), I had super droopy, saggy, "rock in a sock" breasts. As I was just 31 at the time and didn't want granny boobs for the rest of my life, I sought the advice of a PS -- I went in looking for a lift and was told a story I've heard here over and over -- "you need implants to replace the lost volume." Well, I didn't... more
2000: Saline breast implants, 400+ CCs
2002: Develop capsular contracture.
2002: Removal of saline implants. Replaced with silicone, 300 CCs.
2014: Infection, seroma, pain and swelling in left breast. It is hard as a rock!!
Tomorrow: Getting my implants taken out! I'm scared but I owe it to my body.
One week ago I had my implants removed and capsulectomy. I'm so glad I did!! The recovery... more
I am embarrassed to post my pictures, but I have relied on so many brave women sharing their stories that it seems only fair I do the same.
I am two weeks post-op. My surgery was a breeze, about 1 hour under general. I was up and walking within a few hours and only took Tylenol for minor pain. Unfortunately, within 2 days I developed a horrible reaction to the surgical adhesive, which... more
I'm 43 yrs. old and had breast implants removed with a lift.
I had implants put in because I sagged and was looking for shape. I never bonded with them and decided that no matter what the outcome, the relief of having them removed would out weigh it. Finding a doctor isn't easy. I'm turned off when I can clearly hear the subtle sales pitch strategies coming out. The check list of follow... more
56 yrs old. 17 yr old implants - one failed. I chose to have both removed and NO replacement implants. I had never been real happy with the implants. Too large for my body and self-image. I am so glad to have my "real" breasts back. I have 34/36C breasts now and they slope like a natural breast should. I am very happy with the results of my decision. more
I am age 56. My first BA was in 1990. I was so pleased with the results. I felt great. Looked terrific. About 6 years in I experienced capsular contracture in my left breast. In 2003 I had the first set removed and replaced, same size. Again, best decision, all went well. Now 10 yrs. later I have CC again, same breast, more painful, becoming very uncomfortable. I am ready to have them removed,... more
I'd had breast implants for over 23 years, had them removed and not replaced, and am very glad I did! The initial surgery was done in 1989 to camouflage asymmetry (I was a 34B on the left and about a cup size less on the right). I'm 5'4" tall and slender, with a small frame. I was pleased with the results of the surgery, and back then, breast implants were believed to be basically permanent.... more
In september of 2009 I got a breast augmentation. 240cc in my left breast, 270cc in my right. I thought these implants would be small and I would be a small C, but I ended up a very full D. I did the augmentation because I felt very self conscious about my uneven, A breasts and was looking forward to being fuller and even. However what I got was, large breasts, one of them has very little... more
Had first set of implants at 51, with right side puckering. Replaced them 2 years later. The second set was in for 5 years, and developed a seroma. Decided to take them out with a lift. I am 3 weeks post-op, and my right side looks like someone pulled the nipple from my back -indented all the way across.
Here are pictures I did not send before. I had my implants under the muscle both times. more
9 years ago I was a 31 year old single mother of two when I decided to get breast implants. It seemed to me like I had always wanted bigger boobs and for the 30 months (total) that I nursed my babies, my boobs were a full 34C and I loved them. After I stopped nursing and lost the pregnancy weight (130lbs at 5'9"), I was both small and saggy and decided to get the implants that I always a... more
I feel victimized by our superficial culture that still places the most value on women who look like "BARBIE DOLL" My old plastic surgeon told me that many woem have their implants replaced with bigger ones in the future, he did NOT, CLEARLY, tell me that mine would, for sure need, to be replaced as I aged and sagged and contracted, or that my body would eventually react to having plastic bags... more
I had very old breast implants (40+ years) removed by Dr. Haeck. I'm thrilled at how I look now - still have breasts but now softer and all mine. Healing was a breeze!
The office is immaculate and staff are very attentive. Dr. Haeck takes the time to talk to you before and after your procedures and doesn't seem rushed. Good listener and helps answer the questions you didn't even know to... more
