Do I Need a Breast Lift Along With Large Implants? (photo)

I'm thinking on having breast surgery and I'm going big, 700cc to 800cc silicone mod plus do you think my nipples will be to low? Do you think I will need a lift?

A: Overly Large Implants Are Risky

Complication rates are much higher in women who chose to have breast augmentation with exceptionally large implants.  The tisssue stretching may leave you with a very unnatural look, possibility of thinning the tissues to the point of extrusion, stretch marks, among other things.  The size that has been suggested is well outside of the bell curve.  I think you would be well served by getting advice from another plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and member of the American /society of Plastic Surgeons.

Can I Still Get Surgery on my Belly Button if I Plan on Having More Kids?

I had my first baby 7 months ago. During pregnancy, my OB said I had a possible hernia and to keep an eye on my belly button. Now that I've lost all my baby weight, and have been working out,my stomach is getting flatter and flatter, but my belly button is officially a big outtie belly button. It feels extremely strange when I press on it, like little grains or pebbles underneath the skin and its uncomfortable. There is no way I can wait another 5 years to get surgery, can I get it done now????

A: Umbillical Hernia After Pregnancy

Umbillical hernias are common occurences with the stretching of the abdominal wall with pregnancy.  A large umbillical hernia is ironically less of a risk than a small one.  A small hernia has a greater chance of having intra abdominal tissue become trapped and unable to escape.  Tissue swelling can cut off the blood supply creating an emergency need for repair to prevent tissue death.  So it might be prudent to repair your hernia but put off the  tummy tuck until after you have finished having children.

Drooping Breasts After Major Weight Loss, Do I Need a Lift With Implants? (photo)

Hello, I am 25 years old, 5'2" and weight 112 pounds. I've lost around 70 pounds over the past 10 years and my boobs have noticeable gotten saggy and I have lost breast mass as I lost weight. I have gone from a 36C to a 32C/34B. I would like to get full C Cup perky breasts. In my case, is a breast lift and implants recommended? I know I'm pretty young and have not had kids yet. Does the current state of my breasts indicate how my breasts will change as I age?

A: Mastopexy and Breast Implants After Massive Weight Loss

Large changes in body weight often stretch out skin beyond its ability to bounce back.  Most women need a breast lift to improve breast shape.  You may elect to have an implant or not, depending on how big you want to be.  You will need an implant if you want to return to your prior breast fullness. There are multiple patterns for breast lifts.  From your photographs you may be able to have a lift with minimal scarring, a peri-areolar lift combined with an implant. Congrartulations on your 80 lb weight loss!.
