It's been eight days, and although I see a 20% improvement, I can still squint, forming those 11s between my brows. She did two shots in that area, then one each over the arch and three on each crow's feet area on the sides of my eyes. Do I need to wait a bit longer, go back for more injections or accept that this is probably the way my body reacts? I paid by the area treated, not by the units, so I don't have any idea if she would retreat free of charge.
Botox begins to kick in about 3 to 5 days after injection but may not achieve full effect for 2 weeks or longer. I see all my first-time Botox patients one month after their initial injections, as full effects should be apparent at that point. If you are unhappy with your results at one month post-treatment, I would consider additional injections. With sufficient dosage, Botox can and will prevent you from squinting the 11 lines, but the dosage varies tremendously from person to person.
I had botox to the glabellar and crows feet 2 days ago and my new practitioner also gave me a half unit towards the upper, outer corner of my eyebrows too stating that this would raise my saggy eyelids. I've never had this before with my previous botox practitioner and am worried that this botox will actually cause my eyelid to droop?
It takes about 3 days for BOTOX Cosmetic to start working, so around that time you would notice it. The more diluted the BOTOX used, the more it will diffuse to other areas, and thus, the higher rate of Ptosis.
I would like to know excatly where best for injections of botox for glabella only region, no forehead. Would they be slightly different when forehead not being treated?
It is important that you have an experienced doctor evaluate you in order to achieve the results you are looking for. If you have a particularly low-set brow, care must be taken not to further drop the brow. Treatment of the forehead at the same time will definitely change one's strategy based on the interplay of the two areas with regards to brow position. That being said, I typically treat with 20-25 units divided between the midline, head of each brow, near a line even with the medial limbus (inside edge of colored part of eye) at top of brow, and top of brow even with pupil. That is average, but there can be considerable variation in location and dosage depending on muscle bulk, strength, brow position, etc. This isn't for the person without proper training...
