What is the most cost-effective method? (Juvederm or Restylane?)
The most important part of the process of choosing between the different injectable products on the market is choosing a trained professional who can explain to you the differences and benefits to all the products. I like to educate all of my patients and explain to them why we have chosen that particular filler or treatment and not the others for them in that particular location.
I just recently had 1 syringe of juvederm ultra plus injected into my upper lip for fullness by an RN. Upon using the first syringe she said that I really needed another syringe worth to achieve the desired effect. My best friend came with me and she only used half of her syringe. The Lady who did the injections said I could use the remainder of her syringe but she would switch the needles. Is there a high risk of blood related transmitted diseases by doing this.? It was a very poor decision.
Sharing any syringes or needles is always a terrible idea and should never be done under any circumstances. Whatever the risk is, it is clearly not worth it.
It's been 6 months since I received juvederm under my eyes and the cheeks. I still have blue color in the inside corner of my right eye. Also, it gets swellen several times per day, having a disformed face. It is strange because this is not hapening every day. I live in Athens - Greece and i wouls appreciate your time and advise. I am sending photos and one of them is when the swelling is very bad. Regards Sofia.
What appears to be going on is what is known as the "Tyndall effect" from too superficial of an injection of the filler. When light hits the area, the bluish discoloration is what you see in this case.
Also, when you start to learn a lot about the individual hyaluronic acid fillers, you will find out that Juvederm has the capacity of swelling 6 times more than Restylane. For this reason, I only inject Restylane around the eyes and educate my patients about this.
