Best Ultherapy in Town! Portland, OR

I wanted something for my neck and face but wasn't ready for surgery. After visiting several places offering Ultherapy, I decided to see Dr. Chan. His office was one of the first in Portland to offer Ultherapy and I felt he has had a lot of experience with it. The main thing is I wanted to know if I was a good candidate since there is so much hype out there. What convinced me to go with Dr. Chan is that he combines the ultherapy with liposuction for the neck, which I needed. In addition he suggested I consider a laser procedures for my skin texture that I went ahead and did that as well. The results are amazing. Although it's hard to say if it was the ultherapy, I really liked the approach that Dr. Chan took. It shows his experience with this procedure and also his interest in making you look better regardless of what procedures you decide to do-- he's very upfront about what he feels will work and what will not. I will definitely return to him in a few years when I'm ready for my facelift.

Facial Aesthetic Medicine: Understanding the Aging Process Part III Facial Volume Loss: By Doctor James Chan

Facial volume loss Deep folds such as the “parenthesis” that develop around the mouth and nose are best treated with dermal fillers (gel-like materials that are safe to use in the skin). There are many types of dermal fillers—Juvéderm and Restylane are among the most commonly used. Dermal fillers are effective at lifting deep folds and filling deep furrows. They can also be used to replenish mid-face volume loss by restoring volume in the cheek areas.

Facial Aesthetic Medicine: Understanding the Aging Process Part II Skin Texture: By Doctor James Chan

Skin texture Fine wrinkles are found under the eyes, and over the cheeks. These wrinkles develop as a result of textural changes in the skin from loss of collagen (a natural building block in the skin). As the skin ages and takes on sun damage, collagen depletion occurs. Lasers are most effective to treat these fine wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin. Laser resurfacing works by taking away damaged skin on the surface and renewing collagen. Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles that develop...

Facial Aesthetic Medicine: Understanding the Aging Process Part I Skin Laxity By Doctor James Chan

What happens during the aging process? As we age gravity, exposure to the sun, facial volume loss, and the stresses of daily life affect the way we look. We form deep creases between the nose and mouth to form ‘smile lines;’ our jaw line grows slack and we form jowls; fine wrinkles form around our eyes and mouth; skin discoloration become more noticeable. While nothing can halt this progression aesthetic procedures can ‘set back the clock’ and drastically improving...
