One week to go and like many of you, I fluctuate between being very excited to SCARED to death! I'm 47 years old and currently a dd and hoping to be a large b/small c. I also have auxiliary breasts under my arm pits (so embarrassing!) that they will remove at the same time. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping I will walk away feeling more comfortable. I have poor lung function... more
This website has been so helpful for me in the months since I decided to finally have this surgery! I don't see many people on here that are my age and have boobs as big as mine, so I want to share my experience with girls who may have a similar body type to me! I'm 21, a 32H, weigh ~150 pounds, and am hoping to go down to a C (a D seems big to me, but I think my perception of what boobs look... more
I typed my “story” and then decided who wants to read a novel... you want a snapshot, so here it is...
Age 13 – Size 34DD, 6 Jeans; started getting headaches, hated running, embarrassed to wear swim suits, nicknames like double bubble… ugh!
Age 19 – Size 34F/G, 6 Jeans; migraines, neck/back/shoulder pain (tried yoga, personal trainer, supportive ugly bras, eye doctor for headaches,... more
I have always wanted a reduction once I had my first baby. Now at 32 years old, going thru divorce, 3 kids, and the amazing realization that my insurance will cover this procedure (previous insurance would not) I am very excited to get it done, heal, and move on with life. I hate being so inactive and having to wear 2 sports bras to do anything and always have neck and back pain. I need to get... more
Hello Real Selfers. Like many of you, I have been checking out this website for months now and it is because of your words of strength and encouragement, and shared laughter and tears, I am now opening up and sharing my story as well. It's not so different than the one many of you have told, I only wish I had told this story years earlier.
A bit about myself, I'm 5'5", 145 lbs and 50 years... more
Here I am 30 days from surgery. I had a consult scheduled with a PS when I was 18 but chickened out. Now here I am 36 years old, a married mom of three, a nurse, and student finally doing it. Getting approval from insurance only took a week. Have felt some nervous flutters but I remember the amount of Naproxen, Ibuprofen, heat packs, and visits to the chiropractor I've needed just to... more
I am now 2 weeks out from the procedure and I am happier everyday I did this. My only regret is that I waited so long to get it done. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at my breasts these past 2 weeks. I was a 36J and I believe I am now going to be a 36 C or D. It was an emotional few weeks. Those breasts were a huge part of who I was for 30 years. I developed young and it only... more
I had a breast reduction back in 2002 followed by a tummy tuck this year 2013. I was amazed to see how personable and caring the entire staff was. Although I had an allergic reaction to the stitches and tape. I would still use the waldorf center because when you are having something as personable as breast reduction or tummy tuck you want to be under the care of a great medical and surgical... more
I'm 4 days post-op and unwrapped the new girls for the first time yesterday. Well, I nearly passed out from the sight. They are very bruised. But the thing that freaks me out the most is that I know that they are still very swollen (I didn't have drain tubes). I'm afraid once the swelling is gone I will end up flat chested!! I also haven't had a bowel movement since two days before my surgery... more
I am 24 years old, 5'10, 212 pounds. I am a lead line cook in downtown Portland, OR and I have managed to save up enough sick time to cover my recovery time! I am a 38K. I would love to go down to a C/D. With insurance (covers 80% with a $3000 out of pocket max), short term disability (will reimburse me $2400), and $500 annual medical reimbursement from my work, I should only have to pay $1000... more
I have thought about having a breast reduction for years, but that was all it was really, just a thought. Anytime my back or neck moaned at me, anytime a shirt or bra would not fit, anytime I wanted to be active and felt my heavy chest pulling me down...then I would think yeah that would be nice! I am 44 and have been "thinking" about it for at least 10-12 Years. This year things changed... more
I have always been self conscience about my chest size since Junior High school. I felt I was the only one that had the biggest boobs compared to my female classmates. The boys would tease me and thought it was funny to make fun of my chest size. So I would do whatever I could to either make them "look" smaller or just plain cover them up. By the end of high school I was a full 34D/DD. I just... more
I have wanted to get this of years - I'm 35 now , 5'6, 185. I tried to get approves almost 10 years ago and was rejected. Most of my bras are a 36G. I'm excited but really scared that they will get the some right for my body. I still want to be a 36DD. I don't want to look totally flat, it will make my body look weird. Right now I'm waiting for the first appt with the... more
I have had breasts since I was 8 years old. I was a D cup at 13. I have never really been overweight, but regardless of whether I gain or lose a few lbs., my breasts don't change. I am now 33 years old, 5'6" 145lbs and a 34H. This is something I have wanted for 20 years. I remember when I was in junior high and high school and I used to use packing tape to tape them down. I was... more
My regular doctor suggested this in March, 2011. And now it is over - what a whirlwind! I was incredibly nervous although I have had many surgeries. But none of them were elective before this! I am 40, have been squeezing into a 38DDD (barely and painfully!!!) for years. I've always worn a shirt over a shirt to hide the fact that my bras did not fit and my breasts were so large. The... more
