i have now been suffering for 6 months with severe neorological symptoms associated with juvederm ultra2 it has caused corrosion of both of my corneas found in an eye exam i have even paid for a pet scan to determine the cause of severe burning in eyes and forehead 24 hours a day i am awaiting admission for a biopsy of the brain as no doctors can find an answer to these symptoms i am so ill i can hardly walk.My arms and neck are now burning please help no one has had this reaction.
I am not sure how the Juvederm would cause corneal abrasions, and I think your symptoms are likely not related to the Juvederm. If there is any doubt in your mind, the Juvederm can be dissolved with hyaluronidase in your doctors office. Good luck in finding the cause for your symptoms, and keep and open mind about other possibilities. I hope this helps, Lana Long, M.D.
I have been receiving juvederm lip fillers for over 8 years now only 1cc per year to add volume to my lips. Just recently I have noticed that the distance between my nose and my upper lip has gotten longer and looks really funny. I also noticed that it is almost as though my upper lip has muscle as it can protrude past my nose now and is really noticable especially when I talk. I was never able to do this prior to the injectables. What is goin on and what can I do as I feel like a freak!
The distance from the base of the nose to the upper lip gradually increases with aging, so I think what you are describing is normal, although a photo might be helpful. Some people have a more prominant philtrum, two raised lines from the base of the nostril to the upper lip. Placing some filler is this area gives the area more definition and dimension, this is sometimes referred to as the Paris lip.
I would go talk with the doctor who did the injection. If you are not happy, one of the nice things about Juvederm is that it can easily be dissolved in the office with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps. Lana Long, M.D.
whats the secret to minimizing bruises from wrinkle injections like juvederm or restylane? Should I apply ice to the area of injection?
While there is always a risk of bruising with any injection, they can be minimized by using ice to the treatment area BEFORE the injection. If a bruise does occur, it can be minimized by placing ice over the treated area AFTER the injection as well.
In addition, the use of the smallest possible needle during the injection will minimize the risk of injuring a small blood vessel and therefore reduce the risk of bruising.
Thee are the measures you can take to minimize the risk of bruising with restylane or juvederm treatments.
