Scared of Botox For Forehead Lines- What Are The Risks?

Hi, I am 29 and I have horizontal forehead lines on my forehead that make me look older. I would love to have botox but im terrified of it. what are the chances of breathing probs or swallowing probs after having botox in the forehead?? If this were to happen when would it be apparent? would the risk be for the whole 4 months or so that botox works or for the first few day?? thanks

There is no need to worry about breathing or swallowing problems when injecting Botox in the forehead. There are a few reports of this when injecting platysmal bands in the neck and using large doses of Botox.  There is always a risk of bruising where the Botox is injected, and a small chance of a brow drop.  The bruising would last a few days, and the brow drop can be temporarily improved with an eye drop until it goes away on its own.  I would see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has experience injecting.  A lot of people have concerns at first, and almost all are back for a repeat injection when the Botox wears off.  I hope this helps.  Lana Long, M.D.

Is Latisse Available Everywhere in the World? Where Can I Get It?

Is it available in the Midde-east or southeast asia? If not, then how else can I get my hands on it?

Latisse is manufactured by the Allergan corporation and is distributed world wide.  On the Latisse website,  there is a listing of doctors who prescribe the medicine in your area.  I have only looked at the US site, but assume there are sites for areas in other countries as well. Which Do You Think is Better to Combat the Dreaded Frown Line...botox or Juvederm?

I am going to have either or done next week for my frown line between my eyes. I can't stand it! I had a conservative amount of Botox done for this last year and it worked fine, but I still was able to see a faint line still. Do you think that getting Juvederm this time around would be a better option, or should I just ask for more Botox?

I would treat with the Botox since you had a good response last time.  Sometimes when the muscles are relaxed, the lines soften significantly, but a fine line is still present.  If this is bothersome to you a filler can then be placed.  I think this is the safest option and agree with Dr. Steinsapir that there is a small risk of emboliztion with filler in the glabellar area.    Lana Long, M.D.
