Can You Perform a Dual Plane Breast Implant Procedure Through a Nipple Incision?
I had implants in Shanghai. I can feel the edges on one side and bottom and they are slightly uneven, but other than that I was pretty happy. I told my family Dr what I had done and he laughed and said it could not be under the muscle if the incision is around the nipple. Have I been misled? I was told that the surgeon used a dual plane procedure. Now I am a little concerned - should I be feeling the implant edge so easily? I can also feel a bubble under the side of my nipple!
A: Breast Augmentation through periareolar incisionYes, dual plane and sub-pectoral breast augmentation surgery can be done through an "around the nipple" (periareolar) incision, depending on the original diameter of the areola and the choice of implant type and size.
Can Saline Breast Implants Affect my Asthma?
I want to get saline breast implants, but am worried about it effecting my asthma. I know they are also encased in silicone shell and after reading horror stories it has me thinking twice. My asthma is moderate I take inhalers daily for it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
A: Saline implants and asthmaThere are no known connections between saline or silicone gel filled implants and asthma. The form of silicone used in the shell of saline implants (as well as many other forms of silicone) is used daily in literally hundreds of medical devices and products with no demonstrated negative health effects. But if you are at all uncomfortable with the presence of a silicone containing device in your body then you should not have breast implants.
I had a test spot done yesterday with an NDYag Laser on my black ink tattoo.I had swelling and redness but no scabbing and while the shading looks to have disappeared, there has been no change to the outline. Does this mean it is not working? Should I avoid following through with further treatments as I was expecting some change and told to expect scabbing. Is it normal to not see a change at all in the thicker tattoo outline? I am black with caramel colored skin so am cautious with this removal
A: Tattoo removal
It is usually at least several weeks before the effectiveness of any single laser tattoo removal treatment can be fully assesed. Further, where tattoo pigment has been more densely applied, such as in a black outline, it may take several treatments before it appears that anything is happening. You should speak to the physician who is performing your treatments as they should be able to clearly explain the mechanics of the process, the limitations and what are the realistic expectations you should have along the way.
