Which is more invasive...a browlift or upp blephroplasty? Thanks!
Prior to performing any procedure in surgery, we must have an appropriate indication to perform that procedure. Thus an inappropriate procedure, regardless of how minimal it may be surgically, is too invasive. That is the central issue with the question that you posed. Further, we each have different techniques for performing browlifts and upper blepharoplasties based on our training, surgical preferences, diagnosis of our patient's needs, and their desires. Ultimately it is difficult to compare certain procedures, because some surgeons might consider in the appropriate candidate to perform a transblepharoplasty brow-lift. It would be difficult to say that this would be more invasive than a "regular upper blepharoplasty".
I would focus on what your aesthetic goals are, and what you are comfortable with undergoing. Ask to see pictures of similar patients and ask about expected outcomes and risks/complications. Best wishes on achieving your goals.
If someone wanted a mini fold - nothing dramatic, how small can it be made to ? .. My eyelids have been sagging as result of using eyelid tape a long time ago.. I want my eyes nice & bright again, but without much of a change. Thanks!
We can set the crease at the height that you would like. However, when assessing the upper eyelids, we first start with the eyebrows and see if you need elevation of the eyebrows to improve your sagging upper eyelid skin. Once the eyebrow is set at its appropriate position, then we can assess how much excess eyelid skin you have and can brighten up your eyes. Best wishes in achieving your goals.
I had revision work for an ectropian about 10 years ago. He did it partly through a cheek lift, put fat back under my eyes and did something with the corner of my eyes. My eyes used to be almond shaped, but after surgery, it was kind of lost. Just recently everything fell. My outer eyebrows, the outer corners of my eyes and the top part of my cheeks. this happened after rubbing my eyes. Is this common? Can it be fixed
There are definitely changes present in your eyelid shape compared to your older pictures. Eyelid anatomy and function are quite complex and require someone who can appropriately diagnose and treat your eyelid problem. We commonly saw and corrected these issues where I did additional training in oculoplastic surgery (Paces Plastic Surgery with Dr. McCord in Atlanta, GA). That may be your best option.
