The Nurse Said Dont Get the Bandage Wet After Sclerotherapy, Why is That?

i did vericose vein sclerotherapy and the new told me not to get the bandage wet why is that?

A: Don't get bandages wet It's best for you to call the office who performed the procedure on you. Patients should never be embarrassed to ask questions. There are many reasons why your doctor may want you to not get the bandages wet. Wet bandages do not compress well. The wetness may irritate the skin . Wetness may make it hard to remove a bandage. It could also cause adhesive to fall off. The list goes on . Good luck.

Is PhotoRejuvenation Good for my Severe Dark Circles ?

I've tried many products but nothing seems to work with me, I searched on line and I found out about Photorejuvenation and IPL, but I have no ideia if it would finally work. I have had this Dark circles for almost 6 yrs, and it is getting worse.

A: Several excellent treatments for dark Eye Circles There are multiple types of treatment for dark eye circles. The simplest perhaps least effective is chemical peels using various agents from salicylic acid , alphahydroxy acid, or pyretic acid , among others. A filler such as Restylene will Soften the color a little bit in this case. It there was a deep tear trough delineating the area of dark it would be even more impressive. Lasers are perhaps the most potentially helpful. I have found the fractionated Co2 laser ( ie Pixel) to be the most effective of the lasers. Ruby, nd-yag. Fraxel , and others can also be used with less effectiveness but with less downtime. Each of these treatments have different risks and benefits which require a thorough consultation. For before and after pictures you can go to the attached site. Good luck.

What Happens to a BCC Left Unremoved?

I'm sure that there are a lot of people out there with basal and squamos cell cancers out there. What really happens if they never get them removed?

A: Basal call carcinoma can be Destructive Basal cell carcinoma rarely metastasizes- spreads to other parts of the body. I had one patient that this happened to . It is known as the rodent ulcer. I had one patient who refused treatment and over three years lost his ear. Basal cell carcinoma can invade deeper tissues and bone How fast any cancer is going to grow can not be accurately predicted. Squamous cell carcinoma kills approximately 3000 people per year . It is unfortunate when patients do not treat conditions which are so relatively easy to treat and avoids these negative risks. If you are afraid of one type of treatment like MOHs surgery( the most effective type of surgery) then at least excision, desiccation and currettage, x-ray, chemical therapy, laser treatment, or some other typeof treatment which matches the patients's needs and concerns should be employed. Please do not ignor these important cancers. !!!!
