When Can I Resume Exercise After Liposuction of Waist and Thighs?

I had liposuction over my saddlebags, abdomen,&outer thighs,& a little over my lower back. It has been 1 wk.I have been wearing the compression garment as instructed & had a small umbilical hernia repaired w 1 small stitch I started walking my dogs soon after the surgery. Nothing strenuous, just 40 min. Is that ok? I know I can't do any strenuous exercise for at least 2 wks I normally jog 4 miles/day, weight train,& spin on a bike. Do you think my swelling will take longer to go down?

Overdoing it will prolong the resolution of the swelling, so the first two weeks are the most important, after that, increasing activity but wearing compression garments helps. High impact activity like running will cause more swelling than walking on a treadmill on a high incline too

Is Water Assisted Lipo Better for Breast Fat Transfer Survival?

Hi I have read that Water Assisted Lipo helps fat to survive better than Smart Lipo for Breast Fat Transfer. Is this true? Also, does the addition of stem cell or PRP also help? Or do none of these things really matter. Thank you for your time!!

The jury is still out on the effects of PRP with fat cells, and the studies on whether stem cells help are being done right now. To claim at the present time that they help is extremely premature and just hype. As to water assisted liposuction fat being better for fat injections, it is true that as much blood should be removed from the fat prior to injection so it might save you some time if that is your intent.

The Compression Garment They Placed on Me After Surgery Did Not Cover All Areas That Were Treated W/ Lipo. Should I Worry?

I am very black w/ red marks and swollen in those areas (lower hips) It is very painful in those areas. Should I be concerned? What can I do to help with the swelling since the garment isn't compressing it well enough in those areas? I had full abdominoplasty w/ muscle repair & lipsuction of the hips/flanks.

Although many surgeons use compression garments after liposuction to reduce swelling and aid in skin shrinking, there are many that do not. I think the swelling will go away in time and massage will help that. I do not think you will have anything bad happen without the compression garment, it is just maybe a little more time for the swelling to go down.
