Can I Get a Nose Job for Free if I Have Been Referred to by a Doctor for my Nose?
I recently broke my nose and had to get surgery to fix it but my cartilage needs to be reconstructed so I have been referred to a cosmetic surgeon. Am I able to get a free nose job if I have already been referred to one? Will he shave down parts of my nose I dislike?
A: Cosmetic and reconstructive nasal surgeryYour insurance will pay a portion of your nasal surgery for the reconstruction from trauma. You should understand that they will not pay for all of this portion, and you should check with your insurance documents regarding your deductible and co-pay. The cosmetic portion, to "shave down parts....I dislike" will not be covered. You will pay for this portion along with the deductible and co-pay out of your pocket.
Can I Elevate my Tip to Disguise my Hump Without Dorsal Rasping? (photo)
I am ok with my small hump, width of nose bridge from frontal view, nostirls & alar base.I want to change my droopy tip. It points downwards, nearly touching my upper lip when I smile.I will stay with my hump cause a rasping plus an osteotomy will cause me too much down time, cost is fine. Will a tip rotation disguise a dorsal hump to be lower? Can suture technique alone elevate my tip without cutting of cartilage and implant? What do you suggest for me? My surgeon will rasp hump & suture my tip.
A: Options in rhinoplastyFrom your photos, your tip will require some sort of support and/or projection, whether it be a tip graft to augment the tip and/or a columellar strut to support the tip. Your hump will not be "disguised" by these manuevers and may still requires some reduction.
Am I A Candidate For a Hair Transplant Where I Have Scarring From an Accident? (photo)
I got into an accident 10 years ago, which caused scarring around my front hairline. Ive been wearing my hair parted to the side to cover up the scar tissue and bald patch, and I was just wondering if I would be a good candidate for a hair transplant on this area?
A: Hair transplants into areas of scarringYes, we can place grafts in your scar. This works really well. We do know that hair grows a little less reliably in an area of scar, but we have seen awesome results using follicular unit transplants. In order to get all of your options, please contact your local hair transplant surgeon for an in-person consultation. At that time, you can learn about surgical and non surgical options available to you. Best of luck to you. Dr. P
