Swelling 1 Month After Lipo

Lipo One Month Ago on Flanks, Lower Abs and Outer Thighs Done. My Inner Thighs and Inner Knees Are Swollen. Normal? I month post lipo. Exercising regularly, yoga, tennis etc.

A: Is swelling 1 month after liposuction normal?

Yes, it is normal. swelling will continue to subside for up to 6 months after liposuction, and the more areas and amount of fat removed increaseds how much and how long it will take for the swelling to diminish. Generally, age is also a factor, as younger patients heal faster than older ones. Your increased activity along with a healthful diet and fairly low salt intake is also helpful. Elevating your legs after a long day on your feet should also be in your routine. LIposuction is a wonderful procedure when indicated, but it is traumatic to the tissues, so swelling is to be expected. Good luck and be patient. You will probably be elated with the final result.

Is is Normal for One Thigh to Be More Swollen Than the the Other 2weeks Postop Thigh Liposuction?

I had lipo to my inner/outer thighs and flanks butt contouring, and fat transfer to my breasts. I am 5"4 and was 160 post op. I was told the surgeon removed 6L. The first week I was unable to walk without assistance, weak, and experienced extreme pain! This week I am feeling way better still some stiffness but am walking and feeling more energetic. I have not been released to exercise or drive yet and am worried that one leg is bruised and swollen while the other has gone down with minimal bruisin

A: One leg more swollen than the onther 2 weeks after liposuction

One leg more swollen than the other can indicate a very serious problem. You should visit your physician immediately to,make sure you do not have a blood clot in one of your veins, which could be very dangerous. He will have to order an ultrasound study to determine this. If this is normal, your problem is probably from excessive bleeding in the swollen leg, and it will take time for this to subside. Massage and external ultrasound may help speed this process also. Physical activity will also help when your doctor agrees that you can proceed with exercise. Good luck with this.

What are the benefits of chin liposuction?

A: What are the benefits of chin liposuction?

Liposuction of the chin is actually liposuction of the neck and is for someone with excess fat in their neck and under the chin, but not too much extra skin. Some of the skin will tighten with liposuction alone, but your plastic surgeon will assess you see if a neck lift is also necessary. Liposuciton alone is a very simple procedure that takes about 30 minutes and is done though a very small incision under the chin, and if necessary, one in front of each ear. The results can make someone look so much thinner and give a more defined look to their neck. Some peole have no definition between the jaw and neck making them look very heavy even if they aren't, and liposuction can resolve this problem. Liposuctin can also reduce a patient's jowls through the same incisions. Although a patient will look much better within a week, the final swelling may not subside for up to 6 months. Better stated, even though you may be elated with the results at 2-3 weeks, the best is yet to come.

The porcedure is almost always performed under local anesthesia with mild sedation if the patient desires.
