Candidate For Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty or Restylane Filler?

I am 24 years old and suffer from under-eye puffiness. I'm in dire need to correct this situation in order to restore my youth and happiness and not hide behind my glasses as I've been doing for years.

Am I candidate for the less evasive Restylane filler? Or would you recommend full Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty? or im to young for this ? List Pros & Cons, Advice you can offer others.

A: Subconjuctival Blepharoplasty for lower eyelid bulges

Age 21 is a bit young to be considering lower lid surgery, however, judging from your photos, you do have signifigantly protruding fat pads.  The fat pad bulges are not related to body weight, but are usually a familial trait which becomes more pronounced over time.  A subconjunctival blepharoplasty would result in removal of the fat pads without skin incision or scarring.  The fat pads generally do not regrow, so results are relatively permanent.  In evaluating your pictures,it is not clear exactly how to treat, as photos to assess this area are best taken when looking up, and also looking directly forward.  Your best bet is to have in-person consultation(s) with one or more board certified plastic surgeons who specialize in cosmetic plastic surgery (members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery).

Do I Nead Lower Eyelid Surgery or am I Losing Cheek Volume?

Hello to all:)' I have a kind bumps or shadow in my under eyelid in both of my eyes. When im tiread you can see better or when i have makeup on..I post picture for u see better wich area im talking about.. Do i nead lower eyelid surgery or is the ckeeks nead volume? Note:.If i strech the skin in the area and pull up the bump disapper. So what i nead to do? Thank you to all

A: Improving lower eyelid aesthetics

Without an in-person clinical exam, it is not easy to see from the photo if you have bulging lower eyelid fat pads.  If you do, a sub-conjunctival lower lid blepharoplasty would be helpful.  In this procedure the lower lid fad pads are removed via incisions inside the lower lids, so skin scarring is avoided and lower lid shape is preserved.

In addition, the photo seems to indicate volume loss in the upper cheeks  (tear trough grooves), which is a very common problem.  This issue is easily remedied with hyaluronic acid filler injections, such as Juvederm or Restylane.  I would recommend doing the surgical blepharoplasty first ( if it is indicated), then getting the fillers after the post-surgical swelling has fully resolved.

Risk of Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty for Keloid Prone Skin?

Hi, I have "keloid prone skin" and I was wondering what would happen if I get the incisonal upper eyelid blepharoplasty??? I have one uneven monolid eye and one big (in comparison) double lidded eye. I would just like to even out my eyes

A: Low risk of keloid with eyelid surgery

The risk of keloid formation following upper eyelid blepharoplasty is extremely low.  However, if the incision on the inner (medial) portion of the eyelid extends too far towards the nose, it is possible to form a thick, raised, hypertrophic scar, possibly even a keloid in that area.
