My eye surgery upper/lower and brow was performed 51/2 wks ago and one upper Eyelid is extremely swollen, and the shape of my eye was almond and now more Round, will the shape come back
Five and 1/2 weeks after eyelid surgery, most (but not all) of the swelling should be gone. I recommend that you discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
I had Fasanella-Servat procedure done on one eye 23 days ago. The surgeon said the stitches will take 2 months to dissolve. I feel some irritation when I close my eyelids and look up. It feels as if something is scratching my eye/cornea. Is this caused by the sutures? When will it go away? I also have double vision in that eye, which sometimes gets blurry. Could this vision problem be caused by corneal abrasion due to sutures? Will it get cured by itself?
RFDZ,
I recommend that you see your surgeon today. It is possible that, as you suggest, your suture is rubbing your cornea. If so, your surgeon should be able to treat you before you have any serious corneal damage. Of course, there could be other explanations for your symptoms, so it is important to have your surgeon examine you.
Six months ago I had upper eyelift. It looks as if I am going to have permenant scarring on the outter corners of both eyes, the marks look like large stretch marks. It looks as if he did not put enough stitches in. After my surgery my docter had not looked at my eyes until 3 months later, I even had appointments 4 times. I fear that these marks will not go away, what do you think?
Although incisions can take up to a year to fully heal, at six months your incisions should be fading nicely. I don't think that they should look like "stretch marks" at this point. I recommend that you talk with your surgeon. If he does not address your concerns to your satisfaction, I recommend that you see an oculoplastic surgeon (an eyelid specialist) who is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. You can find one at asoprs.org.
