Can bleph eyelid surgery be done without anesthesia? If so, how does it work?
Thank you for your question.
I do not think that any surgeon would perform this procedure with NO anesthesia.
Some surgeons use General Anesthesia, some surgeons perform the blepharoplasty surgery under local anesthesia.
Do your research and make sure that you are comfortable with your surgeons experience with this procedure. Ask to see before and after photos and even speak with other patients who have had this surgery performed.
Best Wishes!
I had a rhinoplasty, chin implant and my eyes done. I finally have my face expressions back but my smile is not the same anymore. Will I ever smile the same again? That was my greatest feature, my smile. My eyes would also become very small when I smiled. That isn't the case anymore. I don't even like to take pictures anymore cause I look totally different. Should I be doing facial exercises or something?
Thank you for the question.
There is almost always a “adjustment period" after aesthetic surgery. Patients need to adapt to their new “body image”. After 6 months most patients have adapted nicely. If you still have concerns at that point communicate calmly with your plastic surgeon.
Best wishes.
I had surgery 12/16/11. I am so disappointed and depressed over my results. The right eye retracted but has come back some. My left eye incision appears to have gone awry. Also, the lower left eyelid swelling is not going away. That incision can't be normal. Please help.
Thank you for the question and pictures.
Although your concern is understandable, it is much too early to be concerned about the appearance of the incision line or eyelid area. You may be amazed how much these appearances improve over time.
I would suggest continued close follow-up with your plastic surgeon and communication of your questions/concerns.
Best wishes.
