If Your Breasts Are Heterogenously Dense, is It Safe to Get Breast Implants?

If Your Breasts Are Heterogenously Dense, is It Safe to Get Breast Implants?

A: Implants and dense breasts

are not a contraindication to surgery.  I concur with my colleagues and their prior statements.  Due to the difficulties with mammography,  you just have to understand that your breasts will be harder to follow and may need other methods such as MRI or sonography for screening.  If you believe "live for today for tomorrow may never come" go for it.  If you are more conservative in your views and perhaps do not want an excessive increase in volume, you may want to consider BRAVA as an alternative for you.

How Can I Choose the Best Size & Profile of Breast Implants for Me? (photo)

Im 29 years old and considering Breast Implants. Here are my sizes: height :5.6" weight :112 Ibs Breast Wide:Right is 6.3" & left is 6.5" and Total around is 28" which makes me 32A cup. Shoulder's wide:14.5" =37cm I want the breast which is wide and round & Full as much as my body allow, but not looking so unnatural and fake. I have a friend who had a surgery with 375CC Silicon, high profile, its almost what i'm looking for!upload her photo. What is the best size and profile you suggest me!

A: Whats the best size for me?

Its certainly desirable to have a cleavage and more fullness and this is something you should convey to your surgeon you decide to go with.  Your doctor should be able to guide you depending on what size/volume you desire and what dimensions you are trying to achieve.  Some volumes will simply not allow for wider implants that you may need to achieve the result you imagine of.  Some doctors will not exceed the width of your natural breast footprint due to something they may have learned at a meeting.  I believe that patients can accept risks as long as they are fully informed and that we are not creating some abnormality in the process.  Best wishes at achieving your goals.

Debating 286cc Vs 304cc Natrelle Implants For My 34A Frame.

I'm 5'5" and 130lbs with a 32" ribcage wearing a 34A that I barely fill. I'm getting implants in 2 weeks and my doctor initially recommended 304cc implants. I'm worried its going to make me top heavy and my boyfriend is convinced if I get the 304's that I will look fake and is pressing for the 286's for the "natural" look. I'm agonizing over this decision to the point of obsession. My doctor is wonderful, but very hands off in the decision making part. Need help PLEASE

A: I wish I went bigger...

is the most common complaint I hear from my patients after they spent agonizing over the size to go with.  You should not really appreciate the difference between adjacent sizes and I always tell my patients, when torn between adjacent sizes, to simply go with the larger one.  And not one has ever been disappointed.  Mind you, my practice is in California.  Best wishes with wonderful outcome!
