I am 43, no kids, 5'7", 150 lbs. My bra size is a 34 F/G, depending on the brand.
I'm active, muscular; I run 10 miles a week. I've wanted a breast reduction for what seems like forever. Years ago, when I had Kaiser, I was told a br would absolutely aesthetic and not covered, so I gave up. I changed insurance to Cigna a few years ago and decided to at least try to have the procedure covered.... more
Its been over a year since my breast reduction and I'd like to share my experience with other women who may be considering this type of surgery.
First a little history. I was a late bloomer but once I did get breasts they sprouted almost overnight. Looking back I was probably a 30D/32C but had no idea what a properly fitted bra was. I remember it being painful when they started growing and I... more
My OB/GYN recommended a consultation with Dr. Lepore for my persistent back ache and deteriorating posture. My subsequent appointments with Dr. Lepore were fast and his staff was professional and effective throughout the process. My breast reduction was in December, 2013 . Dr. Lepore was very caring and had excellent "bedside manners". He listened well, answered all my questions and... more
I have had large breasts my entire life. Boys use to tease me in high school. My mom always use to say that I got all the breast material from her and my sister, they have small breasts.
I have had three children, two breast fed.
I was approved and going to have the procedure in 09 but I chickened out. I have had them for so long and women pay so much for breasts like mine, but now,... more
I have known since I was ~14 years old and a 32C that I would someday need a breast reduction, and here we are! At 5'8" and 125 lbs I am carrying a full size 34DD/34DDD set of breasts, and ready for some relief! My shoulders ache daily from my bra straps, my neck/back worry me that I will be a hunchback old lady from having my center of gravity shifting my posture inward/over. I try to... more
I am 20 years old and really hated the idea of going under the knife so young. I had a bi-lateral breast reduction that took me from a large 34E to a 34 C/D cup. Since puberty I have had back problems, frequent headaches and a lot of trouble with sports. I just had my surgery 2 months ago with Dr. Bachelor and I am wearing bathing suits from target and victoria secret like I have always... more
My entire life I've had large breast. A little description of myself: I'm 5'4, 185lbs. with 36 HH breast. These things have been such a pain in the a**. I have my surgery scheduled tomorrow morning and I'm starting to get extremely nervous. I've read lots of reviews and tried to get an idea of how recovery will be, but I'm hoping everything goes smoothly. If any one has any suggestions on how... more
I had back pain from the weight of the breasts. The procedure was great, and I felt great right afterwards, feeling up to any task now. It's just the greatest feeling to be so light, and I had no problems with the surgery, none at all. I'm ready to go to work in three to four days, like I was told. It's not painful. I didn't even use the pain medicine I was given, just regular Advil. Beautiful... more
I was always large busted, but I was slim most of my life so my breasts were large but a reasonable size. In the last few years I gained a lot of weight and took hormones when I was menopausal. My breasts became extremely large and extremely uncomfortable. I'm a designer and I love clothes, but I could no longer wear the clothes I liked and I felt self-conscious. My back, neck and shoulder... more
When women say that breastfeeding ruined their breasts, I get it. And I don't. Not really, because my boobs have needed a reduction since my 20s - long before I breastfed my two children. My breasts pretty much stayed the same through pregnancy and breastfeeding. Though the fibrous fat & breast tissue under my armpit had definitely gotten worse with time. I remember that my grandmother had... more
After several yrs of contemplating doing a reduction I decided to meet with a surgeon and find out if my insurance would cover the procedure. To my delight it was covered for the basic procedure and at 61 I had the reduction. I did pay for the side fat lipo which was an additional 3K which was worth it. I am now 4 months out and am so happy I did it. more
I've had large breasts and
Considered breast reduction since high school. I have permanent indentations on my shoulders. Have a hard time finding bras. Im either spilling out the top or falling out the bottom. I get a massage every 2 weeks for neck and shoulder pain and have been treated for migraines for years. My insurance authorized the surgery with little or no questions. Now I have mixed... more
So today I had my surgery. It went good. I acted very non-nonchalant because I was afraid that I wouldn't make it. Breasts Reduction Surgery is not something that is very common in my family even though almost all the women in my mothers side of the family suffer from larger painful breasts. Since I was 26 with no children I think I was a little frown upon for why I decided to go through with... more
I have always had large breasts... but not good ones. They were heavy, and droopy. My areolas were huge, and my nipples always pointed due south. When I fit them into a bra, they would always spill out, even though in theory, I was wearing the "correct" sized bra. I likened my boobs to marbles in pantyhose; too much volume at the bottom, not much at the top. When carefully stuffed into a... more
When I was 13 years old I went from flat chested to a D cup in less than six months. Some of the growth was so rapid that I could actually see stretch marks forming day by day. It only got worse - by the time I was 18 I was well out of any bra size that regular stores sell and in fact I hadn't even bothered to find or wear bras in years. They were droopy too of course, so I wore baggy... more
Samuel Pearl = artist , Shelly = essential facilitator ; My renewal of self perception before, during, and after gynecomastia correction surgery is real. I am living in a better form now thanks to Pearl and Shelly. From the first appt, to the post op results, all are beyond my expectations. >90% breast tissue removal, accurate symmetry & shape, minor soreness post-op, almost zero post-op... more
I’m a 41 year-old woman and I had a breast reduction (BR) on August 7, 2014.
My Back Story
Like most people considering a BR, I had tremendous back pain and my life as a younger athlete was a distant, cloudy memory. Neck and shoulder pain along with the deep groves of uncomfortable bras made me feel as if I were ruled by my breasts. Clothes are hard to find that really fit properly... more
What can I say? I have hated my breasts since I got them. They were large, pendulous, downward-pointing and heavy. I had wondered many times about getting them reduced, but never really thought seriously about undergoing the surgery. Then, two years ago, I had to have shoulder surgery because of ongoing shoulder pain that was not corrected with cortisone or physical therapy, and I decided... more
Dr. Chang, Candice (PA), Suzy, & office Staff: absolutely outstanding experience with my procedure. Dr. Chang is a true Artist! Couldn't be happier with my results (hardly any pain, barely noticeable scars, totally symmetrical, kind, compassionate & patient care) I may be a bit biased because I had the privilege of seeing his work post op from previous patients ( I'm an RN) . Highly... more
