Is It a Good Idea to Get Lipo Before Marriage and Having Children?

I am 23 years old, I have never been married nor I have children. Do you recomend having a liposuction before marriage and having children. Will in the future affect me having children?

A: Liposuction before Having Children

I always recommend to my female patients that they have liposuction before pregnancy while your skin's elasticity is at it's best. After pregnancy your results may not be as optimal as before due to your skin's compromised laxity. It will not affect your ability to have children in the future.

What Are 3 Things to Avoid Before Liposuction?

A: 3 Things to Avoid Before Liposuction

Before liposuction surgery it is important to avoid aspirin and aspirin products as well as Advil, Motrin, Aleve (all ibuprofen products), alcohol, Vitamin E and Omega Fish Oil (which can interfere with Lidocaine). These are all things that will thin the blood. Your surgeon, pre-operatively should give you a list of medications, supplements, to avoid. All medications you are taking should be disclosed to your surgeon prior to your surgery in order to avoid any unexpected problems.

Will Three Months Be Enough Recovery Time for Liposculpture?

Is there time for liposculpture? It is now November and I am getting married in March 2010. I am considering getting liposculpture on my abdomen (lower) and 'love handles'. Will 3 or so months be sufficent recovery time to look good (and not swollen) on the big day?

A: 3 months enough Recovery Time for Liposculpture?

Usually swelling is gone in 2-3 weeks but sometimes can remain a little longer. Normally we tell our patients to wait 4-6 months to see 80% of their results. However by month three, especially if you have been working out and eating well you should see great results!
