I am getting breast implants in two weeks and have a girls night out planned the weekend before. I'm not a big drinker, but is it ok if I have one or two cocktails a few nights before surgery? I've heard a few different opinions.
Consuming alcohol can have an untoward effect on bleeding as it affects the clotting mechanism in the body (in a negative way). You should inquire of your plastic surgeon what his/her recommendations are for abstinence. Many recommend not drinking within 48 hours of your scheduled surgery; others shorter or longer.
Why does one procedure have better results for large hanging breasts and getting a fuller and more natural look? (implant or lift)
If you have sagging breasts, a breast lift procedure is what you want to tighten, lift and reconfigure your breasts. If you want to also be larger or fuller, a breast augmentation can be done at the same time. Conversely, if you also want to be smaller, then a breast reduction is the procedure that you want - it not only lifts but also reduces the size of the breasts.
Breast implants by themselves only increase volume - they don't lift the tissues.
This story from FOX news is freaking me out about implants.
A woman was doing Pilates when one of her implants was "swallowed" into her ribcage. She was a cancer survivor who'd had a double mastectomy, and it says her ribs were weaker from an operation.
I want breast implants, but also want to be flexible and active. How likely would this be to happen again?
This case of an implant being "swallowed" into a woman's chest was published in a sensational manner to generate publicity. It's occurrence was as a result of a confluence of very rare factors - a perfect storm - that it was published as a case report. This included radiation damaged ribs from treatment for breast cancer, a limited sized implant, heart surgery performed between ribs in the same area in which the normal structures between the ribs were disrupted and not repaired AND a particular breathing maneuver that capitalized on this situation.
More people have been struck by lightening or won the lottery than have experienced this "complication". It is for all practical purposes a non issue.
