Are You Suppose to Feel Lumps After Perlane and for How Long?

Are you suppose to feel lumps after perlane and how long do they last?

Perlane is a great filler material.  Depending on the area and how long it has been since your injection, these lumps can be very normal.  I would ask you to massage the area gently and be patient.  If it has been more than two weeks since your injection, certainly a call to your physician would be reasonable.  There are always means to reduce lumps if they persist that literally take 10 minutes to accomplish, so please don't assume that nothing can be done.  Enjoy the final results!

How Much Would It Cost to Repair Gauged Ears That Are Gauged at One Inch?

My boyfriends ears are gauges at a size one inch and they are pretty big holes and we are looking to get them repaired and were wondering how much an estimate would be where we live at and an estimate on how much local anesthesia would probably cost plus the procedure. From FL.

In regards to gauges, I generally will charge $1000 for the first ear closure and $750 for a second done the same day.  This is a highly technical surgery and one that requires about one hour of surgery per ear to complete well.  I do offer a discount for young people who are closing gauges to enter the military.

Earlobe repair is a separate issue if it is simply a widened or torn piercing.  These are generally repaired for about half the cost depending on severity.

Both are done in office with local anesthetic.  The patients are comfortable throughout the process.

Where Can and Can't You Inject Fat on the Face?

Where can and can't you inject fat on the face? The doctor I recently consulted with told me that fat cannot be injected into the nose tip and chin because fat doesn't exist there.

Because we have fatty subcutaneous tissue throughout the face, all areas are really amenable to this therapy.  I agree with previous posts that there are definitely some more complicated areas to treat, such as under the eyes.  However, the experienced surgeon will be able to navigate that with you.

Remember that we are aiming for three natural youthful highlights in the face: the lateral brow, the cheek, and the chin.  These should frame the natural and unique characteristics of a patient's eyes and mouths for expression.  It is all about working toward the natural, youthful heart-shaped face.

The larger question about fat grafting still continues in the community: does this persist?  Many, like myself, have seen results that persist for years, but overcorrection is necessary initially to achieve these goals, in my opinion.  When we allow for settling to occur over the first 2 months, results can be amazing for years.
