I feel a little bit overwhelmed by what is required to treat my condition. If u have reflux in common femoral and slight reflux in femoral is that a manifestation of overflow from gsv reflux? Will treating superficial solve the deep. Or will i just have more bad veins develop because of the deep insufficiency. Also is ultrasound guided scerlotherapy a better treatment then a phelebectomy. Long term. Thanks.
Hi I am scheduled to have my breast implants removed via enblock. I was hoping to have EVLT before my surgery but doctor is booked out 4 months. So My question is if I had my explant surgery and waited 3 weeks. Is that a long enough wait to go ahead with the EVLT procedure? I will be 51 years old by the time I have both done. I weigh 127 pounds if that matters
I can't help but feel apprehensive about this procedure. I read a lot of people saying thee vein reopened now there leg swells and there in all kinds of pain that they weren't in before. I need treatment but I also need phelebectomy. Which again I'm highly concerned about. I don't want to have to lose my ability to work after a procedure. Why do the vein reopen and why is pain worse after?
Im 6ft 1 159 pounds. I was told i need evlt and phelebectomy. Im wondering with the different procedures out there which one is most effective long term. Least side effects. I hear laser is most painful. Rfa can not be effective if you have lg gsv to seal it all the way. Opens up again. Then venaseal... Not sure about that. I have extreme anxiety about these the constant ultrasounds an then constant procedures. Vascular surgeon said sometimes 25 treatments are necessary. Evlt is just beginning.
I have studied this surgery for over a year and a half... And although i want to remove bad veins i also have heard the risks if this surgery are pretty big. Mostly permanent nerve damage and also secondary lymphedema! For which there is nothing they can do. The problem is i hear varicose veins come back most of the time so really these surgeries only a temporary fix. I can't see that being worth the risk?
I'm tall and very thin i have been told that EVLT and phlebectomy will be extremely painful after the numbing wears off. Is that true? I have bilateral SFJ reflux according to ultrasound. So i would probably need it on both legs. The thing is it's more visual now. When i first stand it feels heavy but compression thighs make my legs feel fine. I Do eventually want to get it done. But i run a business and can't afford to be out long right now. Is that ok?
Why would the surgeon have me be put under general anesthesia for this procedure. I keep reading how its normally done under local anesthetic? Is there a preference to which one is better? I know general anesthesia is riskier. This is also being done at a surgery center! There is no other option.
I have varicose veins in both legs and went to a vascular surgeon for treatment. I was scheduled for evlt and phelebectomy in right leg. I held off just to research it and then 3 montjs later got a letter saying my surgeon was closing practice moving to Florida where he works for a vein clinic. Now that ive reseachrd this procedure i am not wanting to do it. I understand what not treating them means and the risks. But i also dont have anyone close to do this. And the risks of proceding
If there is deep venous insufficiency then going through with surgery isn't going to fix my issues correct? I don't have pain. But i do have varicose veins in both legs. Been to 2 different surgeons and im nit sure I want to go through with surgery as ive read aot of people regret it. Have more pain and new veins.
A year ago I went hiking and developed bilateral ankle swelling. My left ankle resolved ; however, my right did not. Eventually after seeing a general practitioner and podiatrist, I was referred to a vein surgeon and I had skin discoloration, progressive swelling not corrected by 15-20 mmhg socks, and shiny skin. I had reflux of both my GSV and SSV with filling to a varicose vein. One year after ablation of only the GSV my skin is getting darker and swelling. What could cause this?
