I had bilateral Otoplasty about 12 days ago where cartilage was excised and permanent sutures inserted. Whilst I am really cautious with my ears post Op, it is impossible not to touch and brush against them doing daily things like drying hair after a shower, putting on/removing clothing, shaving my head with an electric shaver, and even when fixing my head band at night. Whilst the contact with my ears is not aggressive and non painful, am I being unduly worried that i am affecting my results.
i had earfold procedure soon 2 weeks ago. im not very happy with the result of my right ear because the sharp corner of the clip is highly visible. my doctor just said its probably the swealing, but he barely even looked at it. im very sad about this because i put alot of trust in him and he doesnt seem to care much. now im wondering, can this really just be a swealing? is it possible to replace the earfold? would it be the same procedure?
When I take my head wrap off to shower, one ear looks perfect and I notice the bad ear is slightly back to where I want it, but after about a minute it protrudes forward. Is there anything I can do like wearing the bandage tighter to help the ear move backward or should I have it redone?
I had otoplasty 2weeks ago,im 100% happy with the 1 ear as its shape is normal and pinned back great, however i have concers for this ear if you look at the top of helix on the ear there is no natural curv its almost like the helix is flat where its supposed to be folded. Looks like a peace of my ear missing, is this just due to swelling causing the skin to pull it tight? Will the helix fold over like a normal ear and look like the other ear? Aslo how and why has this happened? Will it change?
2.3 weeks post op otoplasty Excellent aesthetic result but Im concerned my swelling upper part of ear hasnt settled. Looks like hematoma? Same swelling from the start but I thought would have settled by now Still very tender and itchy. Thank you
I am not sleeping well at all, as I am a side sleeper. I have been properly elevated since my op day. But I need to sleep. I have bought myself a memory foam travel pillow that goes around the neck. I had an idea of using the hole in the middle to place my ear so I am not laying on it. Am I ok to sleep flat?
I had an otoplasty done August 18th and I died my hair the day before, its semi permanent dye, my hair is bleached, the dye is removed by washing naturally after 2 weeks. I havent dyed my hair since the day before surgery but when can I dye it because picture day is tomorrow. But we have retakes in November. I havent called my doctor yet but I am planning, Im going back September 28th for a check up and am discontinuing my headband wearing. Thank you for answering if you do. :)
I had otoplasty 13 days ago and I am not happy. My ears are way too close to my head like there is no space between my head and my ears.I told her that but i feel like she didnt listen. She says that when the stitches dissolve my ears going to stick out for half cm but still Im not happy with that either. Also, inside of one of my ear is looking weird and ugly. Should I undergo another surgery to fix the weird ear or just get a revision surgery for both of my ears? Also, will my ears stick out after a while?
Two week post op otoplasty. Ears seem flat on head a bit and i was wondering will there be a degree of protrusion that happens when swelling / healing / lack of headband advances? Also ears seem to be quite swollen for two weeks and i was under impression that swelling subsided 1-2 weeks after op. When should noticeable to the eye swelling subside by?
