I frequently see patients who wish to have their pre-pregnancy shape back, and I’m happy to tell them that it is possible to reclaim a youthful, slimmer, tighter figure with a combination of surgical procedures called the mommy makeover. This custom combination of surgical procedures typically involves breast surgery (breast augmentation and/or lift) and a tummy tuck, but some patients also opt for liposuction and even facial rejuvenation. There are dozens of possible procedure combinations, depending on your unique goals. If you’re unhappy with the projection and size of your breasts, it’s important to see an experienced breast surgeon. For women with sagging breasts, I offer breast lifts, with or without augmentation, for perkier-looking breasts. If your breasts are overly large, a breast reduction can remove excess tissue, fat, and skin to reshape your breasts and relieve discomfort. If you want to make a huge difference in the way your clothing fits or how you look in a bathing suit, a tummy tuck (aka abdominoplasty) can provide a dramatic transformation. This surgery, which eliminates loose skin and pockets of fat while tightening the abdominal muscles, is one of our top procedures for both men and women. Liposuction around the flanks can also be incorporated, fully contouring the midsection to the back. A tummy tuck requires a low scar below the bikini line, but I keep the incision as thin as possible, so it can be covered by a swimsuit or underwear. You can expect a couple of weeks of downtime, but patients say it’s well worth it once they see their newly toned, tight tummy.
