Dr. Robert Bonillas is a board-certified plastic surgeon practicing in Scottsdale, Arizona, serving patients in the greater Phoenix area. He has expertise in facial plastic surgery procedures like rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and facelifts; body contouring, from VASER liposuction to tummy tucks; and breast enhancement, including breast lifts, breast reduction, and breast augmentation with implants.

Dr. Bonillas comes from a family of car mechanics, and he observed from an early age how his father would diagnose an issue with a car, determine a path forward, and fix the issue. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Arizona with a degree in nutritional sciences, Dr. Bonillas completed his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and was then invited to complete two prestigious fellowships in tissue engineering at NYU Medical Center and Stanford University Medical Center, respectively. Dr. Bonillas finished his plastic surgery training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and continued to enhance and refine his surgical techniques through several visiting residencies.

Over his 12 years of practice, Dr. Bonillas has been honored for his artistic eye and precise hand, even being declared the top plastic surgeon in Scottsdale by the International Association of Plastic Surgeons in 2014.

Dr. Bonillas is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a proud and active member of many professional organizations, including the Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Arizona Latin-American Medical Society, the American Society for Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
