Post-Pregnancy Procedures
Pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can have many long-lasting effects on a woman’s body. While some, like weight gain, can be remedied with diet and exercise, others are not so easy to amend. Sagging breasts and excess skin in the midsection are common changes new moms face. A mommy makeover at my Oakville, Ontario, practice combines surgical therapies customized to treat the issues specific to your experience. Your treatment plan may include a tummy tuck, breast lift, breast augmentation, or labiaplasty. Just as every pregnancy is unique, so too is every woman’s post-pregnancy experience. I’ll work with you as an individual to find the right approach to helping you regain your pre-baby body.
Abdominoplasty
Depending on your individual needs, either a full or mini abdominoplasty will be performed. A full abdominoplasty treats the entire abdomen, while a mini abdominoplasty treats the area below the navel. A surgical incision is made below the navel just above the pubic area and a second incision is made to free the navel from the surrounding tissue. The muscle tissue is tightened and stitched into place for a narrower waistline and firmer abdominal wall. Liposuction may be performed to remove unwanted fat. Excess skin is trimmed and redraped and everything is carefully sewn closed using Dr. de Kleer’s special techniques to minimize scars.
