Dr. Kristopher Hamwi is a double-board-certified plastic surgeon practicing in Sarasota, Florida. Patients travel from all over the United States and the world to his Tampa area practice, Florida Plastic Surgery. He counts celebrities, politicians, and professional athletes among his patients.

Dr. Hamwi grew up surrounded by experts in the medical field (his grandfather, Dr. George Hamwi, was an acclaimed endocrinologist) and in the arts (his father, Alan Hamwi, is a professional sculptor). Dr. Hamwi knew from a young age that he wanted to be a doctor, and spent a lot of time expressing his creativity with clay and pencils. This inevitably led to an interest in aesthetic plastic surgery.
After earning his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University’s College of Medicine, Dr. Hamwi completed a residency in general surgery at what is now Georgetown University Hospital During this time, he took a sabbatical, going to Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard to pursue a research fellowship. He went on to a second residency at Indiana University, this time in plastic surgery.
Dr. Hamwi completed his formal training with an aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City.
Board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Hamwi is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
In his free time, he loves enjoying the company of his three young children and traveling internationally with his wife.
