Dr. Santiago also offers his patients a range of surgical and nonsurgical procedures, including eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facelifts, liposculpture, Botox, platelet rich plasma (PRP), and dermal fillers. Because he considers Botox and dermal filler injection technique just as crucial as facial rejuvenation surgery, he performs all injections himself.
“My philosophy is to bring out and enhance the natural beauty we have within,” says Dr. Santiago. This outlook is reflected in his exceptionally natural-looking results.
Dr. Santiago received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine (now Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) in New York City. Inspired by a professor who spoke about plastic surgery’s ability to transform lives, Dr. Santiago joined the US Navy to train in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, Maryland. There, he learned how to reconstruct major injuries sustained by sailors, marines, and Navy SEALs.
He went on to complete a fellowship in Neuroplastic and Reconstructive Surgery with the prestigious Johns Hopkins Department of Plastic Surgery in Baltimore, Maryland.
Due to his extensive experience with both the departments of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Santiago is the world's first surgeon trained in the specialty of Neuroplastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has performed more cranial reconstructive surgeries than most plastic surgeons perform in a lifetime and often provides consultations to patients, neurologists, and neurosurgeons.
Dr. Santiago also offers minimally invasive decompression therapy to decompress nerves in the face, head and neck for patients suffering from migraines.
When not working at his practice, Dr. Santiago is frequently invited to present his innovative techniques at both national and international plastic surgery meetings. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed academic papers and chapters published in plastic surgery journals.
Dr. Santiago is board-certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and an active member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (AAFPRS) and the Society of Neuroplastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
