Post-Pregnancy Procedures
As a mother myself, I know firsthand the changes that a woman’s body can experience after pregnancy and childbirth, which is why the mommy makeover is one of the most rewarding operations I perform for my patients in Rochester, New York, my hometown. A mommy makeover is a customized combination of breast enhancement and body contouring procedures, tailored to each individual patient. Women who have experienced a loss of volume in the breasts may opt for a breast augmentation, with or without a mastopexy (or breast lift) to address sagging. To remove excess fat and loose abdominal skin, a combination of liposuction and a tummy tuck might be included. During a tummy tuck, the ab muscles are also tightened and repaired, which makes it a fantastic procedure for women who have experienced diastasis recti (or muscle separation) after giving birth. Breast Surgery
I specialize in both aesthetic and reconstructive breast enhancement procedures. Patients who are interested in increasing the size of their breasts commonly choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery, with saline or silicone gel implants. Breast augmentation can also bring balance to disproportionate breasts, allowing clothes to fit better and giving patients renewed confidence. If sagging is an issue, a breast lift can be done, either alone or in conjunction with augmentation. I have a lot of experience correcting congenital breast deformities and asymmetries, as well as performing breast implant revision surgery.
I also have expertise in nipple procedures (such as areola reduction) and breast reconstruction surgery. I’m proud to have helped so many patients who have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy. Dr. Ashley Amalfi is a board-certified plastic surgeon practicing at the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery in Rochester, New York. Known for her expertise in cosmetic surgical procedures of the body and breasts, Dr. Amalfi specializes in mommy makeovers, liposuction, labiaplasty, and breast enhancement, from primary and revision breast augmentation and breast lift.

After graduating summa cum laude from George Washington University with a Bachelors in fine arts and art history, Dr. Amalfi went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She then completed a rigorous plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. She currently holds the faculty position of assistant professor of surgery in the division of plastic surgery at her alma mater, the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Amalfi is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and scored in the 93rd percentile on the board certification exam.
As an active member of the American Society for Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Dr. Amalfi is highly involved in the Women in Plastic Surgery Steering Committee and the Young Plastic Surgeons Steering Committee. She also co-founded the ASPS Maternal Fetal Health Task Force and is the editor of the Young Plastic Surgeons Column in Plastic Surgery News, an ASPS publication.
Dr. Amalfi has been the recipient of many honors, including mentorship awards from the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) Plastic Surgery Residency and the URMC Surgical Interest Group as well as the Women of Excellence Award from the Italian American Community Center.
Dr. Amalfi has contributed many papers to the plastic surgery literature, and is a peer reviewer for the esteemed journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
