LSL Procedure Left Me with Arterial Bleeding

$4,000

I was discharged about 5pm after the surgery. Felt okay. Within 4 to 5 hours my face had swollen to 3X it's normal size, the pain was excruciating and I had projectile vomiting in spite of the phenergan suppositories.

I finally called the doctor about 10:30pm, reached her answering service. The doctor called me back close to 11pm. I said (I am a nurse BTW) "my face is 2 to 3X it's normal size and the post-op instructions say the swelling doesn't peak until day 2 or 3. The pain is excruciating and you ordered Darvocet so I don't think you expected this severe pain. I am vomiting violently and can't keep the pain med down anyway even with the phenergan. I think something is terribly wrong". She said "Darvocet is a prescription pain med. I'm not giving you anything else". I was shocked speechless. Finally I said "the swelling, pain and vomiting are more than expected. Something is wrong" and she said "if you are still concerned someone will be in the clinic tomorrow" (a Saturday).

I went to the clinic the next a.m.after the scariest night of my life, unable to sleep because of pain, unable to lift my head off the pillow it was so huge and heavy. The 2 drs on duty found bleeding arteries in both sides of my head, right worse than left so that all the blood accumulated on the left side of my face.

Now, one yr later the left side of my face needs plastic surgery (moreso than before) because of the skin having to stretch to accomodate the blood swelling into the area. I still have numb areas on my face and can feel lumps of thick tissue.

A waste of money. Wish I had waited until I could afford a competent plastic surgeon. This female doctor and her partners are all ENT specialists, not plastic surgeons. Most clinics are ENTs.

Anyone interested in a lawsuit? I could have died with arterial blood pumping into my face and head! Please let me know if anyone is willing to pursue legal action.

Should be sued for medical malpractice, personal injury and suffering. Left arterial bleeders in both sides of my face.

It is nearly two years since my procedure carried out at the Nuffield Foundation in Glasgow. Lower face lift and eyes. Left eye still numb, pain and dragging feeling down each side of face. Scars behind ears still feel tender and raw. Overall outcome -poor would not recommend any women to go through this procedure. The surgey itself was horrendous - local anasthetic for eyes and in and out of deeper state for rest. Could hear everything especially the dozens of staples being put in head - nightmare stuff.
Mary, I am so sorry for what you have had to go through. Please email me with the by clicking on my name. I would like to chat with you. Best, Chrystal
There is a class action lawsuit being put together by Chrystal Eckes a member of this forum. Contact her and the info is on this site also under her name. LSL HAS to be stopped.
Nora, I had a similar experience at the Denver office in Jan. 09, although my Dr. was a plastic surgeon. There has been a class action lawsuit filed recently. Please contact me and I will give you the attorney contact information. Leave a phone number or email address so I can foreward the info to you.

mtbunny - I would appreciate the Denver info. I have called the number but am interested as to whether the Denver info is different. You can contact me thru the RealSelf group or at Nora.K.Duncan@gmail.com. Thanks!

Nora, I am so very sorry that you have suffered so from your LSL. I am sure you have tried to get them to help you as many of us have. Please contact me. I would love to chat with you about someone who can help you. Thank you for posting your bio and giving women the chance to see what can/could happen if they decide to have this procedure. Has anyone gone to the LSL in Bev. HIlls? Any experiences you would share from that one?
