I just wondered why areolas can look very oval, not round, differently shaped after breast reduction? Out of curiosity: shouldnt it be very easy to cut a round shape during surgery using a mold or something? Also can this oval shape change compared to one week post surgery and ten months post surgery? If so, why it that the shape can change from oval to round with time?
I had a breast reduction going from a 34 double H to a 34 double-D approximately 3 months ago. I have all of a sudden developed a spot along the scar line around my left nipple. Previously on my right breast I had a dark pink spot that seemed soft and then turned into a scab which has mostly healed. I'm not sure if this is the same thing, as this look darker and similar to a blood blister. Is this common? Could the nipple be dying? Thought I was finally in the clear!
Please help! This is my second breast reduction. I had my first 10 years ago and 6 months ago. I included an implant this time around. A couple of weeks after surgery i got a severe infection which took over a month to get rid of and left a huge scar. My question: i am now noticing one areola is red and lumpy and chipping away at the brown getting closer to the nipple. I have been treated by led light for the scarring and was wondering if its causing this or is it something that will go?
breast reduction on the left side to correct asymmetry. Areola reduction on the right side to match the left. For reference this is done a few years ago. There hasn't been much change except for a little droopiness on my right side from gravity. My nipples are inches different in height, as well as my areolas are different sizes. How can I correct this with surgery? Do I need implants? Any help is appreciated Thanks.
6 years ago I got a breast reduction. After surgery I immediately noticed that my areola were too high and on my left breast I lost a bit of my areola due to necrosis. Since then I've been way to nervous and scared to get another surgery to try and fix them because I don't want the same thing to happen and my breast to look even worse. I've gotten a few consultations for a lift to try and correct the areola placement and to cut out the necrotic piece of areola. Is this my best option?
Im just a few months shy of my 2 year anniversary of my breast reduction/lift and I still have some pretty noticeable pleating/bunching around the areola. Im assuming after this long that the results I have now are the final results. Is this normal or should I look into having a revision?
I got a breast reduction about 2 1/2 years ago and I am not happy with the way my nipples have healed. They are different sizes, shapes, and also seem to have different placement. The scarring has healed differently on each and I also have bumps with occasional pus (whiteheads similar to acne) that lead to raised skin on different parts of the areola. I dont know if I can do anything to fix this, and Im hesitant because I already have sensation loss in one of my nipples. Thank you in advance.
Im really unhappy with my breast reduction results.. You can see my nipples point in different directions and are not symmetrical in how they are centered in the areola. The areolas also seem to sit toward the side of my breasts, not in the center. And they are at slightly different heights on my chest. The left breast is also about a cup size smaller than the right. Are these issues that can be fixed? Im worried about having more surgery and not seeing better results
Ive been contemplating getting a breast reduction for years now but Ive shied away from it a few times after seeing a B/A of many surgeons work and not liking the aesthetics of the after. Due to breast shape and areola size after the procedure. I also worry about going too small because of how broad my back/shoulders are so Ive thought about a breast lift instead. But for whatever reason the pain I experience from my breast has gotten worse this year so that may not be an option either. Im looking for a doctor who accepts 1199 SEIU.
