Many people get BOTOX injected into their Jaw Angle to narrow a wide jaw appearance, or even reduce the harshness / squareness of their jaw angle, by relaxing the masseter m. Square jaw angles or a wide jaw appearance is very common in the Asian population, perhaps due to teeth grinding, TMJ, or maybe genetic. Since teeth grinding creates hypertrophy of the masseter muscle, couldn't someone intentionally chew gum to increase the size, girth, and squareness of their jaw angle ?
I received botox in my masseter muscle a little over a month ago (16 units on each side), and I am not liking the results, as my face has narrowed to much for my liking. I heard that chewing gum consistently can help work the muscles to bulk them up again. Should I start chewing gum now, or wait the 3-4 months for the botox to wear off?
I think thru chewing gum I've made my the chewing muscle on my face bigger and now my face is more sqaure then I like. I don't have a large face or strong jaw line but I do notice the outside of my face r more square if that makes sense. I've read up u can use botox . How many units if being conservative? Also have u seen just a,decrease in size if i simply stop chewing gum or is to the point of no return and would need botox to fix
I had Botox done to my lower face resulting in asymmetrical smile, My Dr suggested to inject the DAO at the opposite side to reduce the asymmetry, but I didn't agree because of the funny feeling on the side that I cannot move
I've had three botox treatments to my masseters within 6 months, on advice from my Dr. However my masseters have diminished to the point that my cheek area around my mouth corners now sags, from the jaw muscle atrophy and resulting loose skin. Will chewing gum/jaw exercises help wear the botox off faster, or could this build up other muscles and cause facial imbalance? Should I wait until I can see the masseters working again before I try to build them back up? Thank you.
