hello! i am a 14 yr old female, and i have had acne since i was about 12. my acne is moderate... i have had some flare ups which have resulted in my skin being covered with scars everywhere: my cheeks, chin, forehead, mouth area. in addition, my skin is very very oily, and my pores are bigger than normal. i have tried 2 acne medications and about 8 topical creams.
One Derm says i have acne and another says i have perioral dermatitis. My acne is all over mostly around mouth and chin. I've been prescribed accutane, does that help with perioral dermatitis (i've read it does) if that is what i have around my mouth/chin? I also have acne on cheeks (deep cystic stuff and enlarged pimples).
Hello! I am currently undergoing month 4 of a 5 month treatment of Accutane and am taking 60 mg a day. Although I do not have any legitimate breakouts anywhere, my skin is quite red and blotchy where the acne used to be, especially around my mouth. Moreover, my face as a whole is significantly more red than the rest of my body, especially when in comparison to my neck. I was wondering if/when the Accutane will totally remove the redness, leaving a perfect and flawless complexion. Thank you!
I've developed angular cheilitis a week after I started 80mg of Accutane 3 weeks ago (my 4th month). It is very painful. When I wake up in the morning my mouth is crusted and if I don't put lip balm on first they will bleed. Currently, I've gone through an insane amount of lip balm. I will be seeing my derm next week and plan to ask him about it. Will these sores scar? If so what procedures would fix them?
I took my last course of Roacutane medication in April. Towards the end of June I am experiencing red dots under my eyes and around my mouth area. Very unusual they are at time itchy and can be very red and sore looking almost like eczema. I never had any problems before this. Do you know what this maybe and is this usual for being so long without Roacutane?
