Dr David Amron: With regard to what areas that can be treated with liposuction surgery, it really can target almost anywhere on the body where there is a genetic disproportion of fat. The common areas for liposuction surgery are the outer thighs, the hips and flanks, the abdomen, the male chest, the neck of both men and women. I do a lot of less common areas on the body that other surgeons tend to avoid such as the calf and ankle area which can be a beautiful area with liposuction surgery but it has to be done very specifically. The arms are also a fantastic area to do with liposuction surgery as is the back. These are very gravitationally prone areas and it's important not only to reduce the fat while you're younger but it tends to maintain the tightness of the skin as you get older and prevent the area from dropping.

I also do areas such as the anterior thighs which is an area that has to be done very specifically. Then rarely I do the buttock itself but you don't want to just do the buttock unless there's a lot of protuberance of the buttock and you're creating a more refined shape. So again it can target a number of areas of the body but it's again the artistic approach and the proper technical skills during the surgery to get to a beautiful result in every patient.
