Phaedra Parks: Hi! I'm Phaedra Parks and I'm here with my good friend Dr. Robert Centeno, who is not only a great guy but also a wonderful plastic surgeon. Following a dramatic weight loss, you talk about a body lift. But if you don't want to do the body lift and you're problematic area is the trunk area, are there any other techniques that can give you that svelte look?

Dr. Robert Centeno: That's a wonderful question. As you know, the body lift is a work horse procedure because it's basically a tummy tuck that goes all the way around, lifts, pulls everything up like pants and tighten things up. But not every patient wants that long scar or the downtime associated with that procedure. So one the procedures I've introduced in this patient population is the lipo-abdominoplasty. So we liposuction, get rid of the excess fat at the back, at the waistline and all the other areas that detracts from that hourglass figure. And then we tighten the muscles, and the skin, and the front, and it restores patients in a very holistic way. So a lot of our massive weight loss patients are, in fact, good candidates for lipo-abdominoplasty and do not necessarily need to have the full circumferential body lift.
