For many years, a tummy tuck has been part of a mommy makeover. One of the downsides to the mommy makeover was that a tummy tuck led to having two drains, and those drains stayed in place anywhere from 5 days to 10 days to even 14 days, and managing the drains became a concern for many, many of our patients and it created some additional difficulties of infections around the drain site and how to care for the drains.

A no drain tummy tuck has been an advancement in our practice that we've used for over a year, and it has reduced the number of seromas or fluid accumulations that happened after tummy tucks. Patients are thrilled to go home with no drains. It simplifies their post-operative care, their caretakers are much happier, the rate of infection has gone down, and overall has made it a much more acceptable procedure for patients to do.
